Wenger proposing a rule change to the offside law which will benefit the attacker. It’s being trialled in Sweden. I’m all for it. Wenger explained: "You will be not offside if any part of the body that can score a goal is in line with the last defender, even if other parts of the attacker body are in front."
Hands and arms, are all I can think of. So basically if any part of the body is in line with the last defender it’s going to be onside.
Then idgaf. That **** is ridiculous and killing the game. Using that length of time on a decision is beyond tedious when you're there to be entertained. Next, a forensics team will run onto the pitch and check sweat particles around the player.
Isn't that what the original offside rule was There are a couple of parts of the body that would be painful to score a goal from
The original rule/term was "seeking to gain unfair advantage" (see Alan Clark from Leeds for details). The rediculouse situation we have today means players who are faster of thought/reaction or wear bigger boots are ruled offside because their big toe nail is ahead of a defender when a pass is made. It was meant to stop the old habit of "GOAL HANGING" ffs.
Yeah I thought the old rule was 'clear daylight' between last man and goal scorer, which makes sense. This whole notion that if the attacker's left shoulder is 2 inches ahead of the defender in the build up then the goal is chalked off is ****ing ridiculous Unless it chalks off one of Richarlison's and he gets booked for celebrating a goal that doesn't count lol That's a great spelling of ridiculous above too
Definitely makes sense, but wasn't well enforced IIRC. Was really hit and miss. An introduction of it nowadays, with the tech involved to aid a decision, should be an improvement.
Yeah there used to be some shockers (to be fair there still are with VAR) But as you say, using the tech to see whether there's clear daylight should be a lot quicker than the endless drawing lines ****e
Still cringe af and dumber than a post. At least wait till he has played a ****ing game for you before you give him a chant ffs.
Aluko is a ****ing idiot. She's claiming Arteta rang Pep to put a bid in For Declan Rice just so his chairman would up the bid
