Dunno mate….but I’m sure they showed something very similar on Sky today when discussing the incident not long after.
Trying to find it on google without luck
Was hoping someone knew when it was

I don’t recall anything that controversial before, I do remember someone running someone out but not at the end of an over

So it’s happened to us before, but with a different outcome….but this wasn’t the incident Sky showed.

It's because McCullum tried it before I'm sure !

Yep as I suspected, McCullum was indeed the keeper I'm the Collingwood incident. Regarding that incident though, Collingwood moved out of his crease at the tine and never got back in it. Bairstow today never left his crease until he went to talk with Stokes, and he'd already deliberately wiped his foot behind the line !

Most importantly Vettori the captain withdrew their appeal for the wicket !

    That’s what I said…a different outcome.

Even after we’d ****ed them over in a previous meeting

Yes, l was just reading the Sydney Morning Herald which alluded to Bairstow having done the same numerous times himself.

Yep, remember that. Wasn't too long before that Mccullum incident. Collingwood would later later say it was his biggest regret of his entire career that he didn't withdraw the appeal !

That’s the thing Hammers…..we’ve done things to others, and we’ve had it done to us…..it’s ****ty and not great but hey ho, it’s part of the game. We really shouldn’t be “Holier than thou”

But the major difference is that Bairstow grounded his foot, once Carey had the ball in his gloves. All other times I've seen of similar incidents, are all where the batsman has left the crease without grounding his foot or bat once the ball was in the keepers gloves. The 3rd umpire got it wrong in my eyes

I seriously think we're gonna thump them in the next game now. Might not win the series but the next game we will be steaming. Gonna back Broad to be top wicket taker too, he wants blood lol.

It's interesting how we all view these things depending on which countries lens you're viewing it through. At first I thought the Bairstow dismissal was outside the spirit of the game but on review Carey did throw immediately as he'd anticipated Bairstow leaving his crease early - again. Sort of like a mankad which I think is all fair as the batsman is trying to gain an advantage. I wonder if the throw had missed and there was a chance of overthrows if he'd have taken a run?
Also, Broad is the last guy who should be claiming he's without sin. He's trodden on more balls and picked at more seams than anyone in history (always accidentally of course).
And I haven't even gotten to dirt in the pockets and mints with saliva or using specialist fielders to give bowlers a rest - which are all apparently ok - and within the spirit of the game - depending on which country you support.
Anyway, great cricket and if it helps keep test cricket alive I'm not complaining.

How many times ffs, Bairstow didn't immediately leave his crease, he swiped his foot behind the line to indicate he was in before heading off for the chat. The 3rd umpire is a complete penis for not spotting it, as it transpires like every Aussie on the planet !
