Stokes questioning the spirit of the game concerning the Bairstow dismissal. I thought he'd just accept it tbh. Hopefully that will keep things spicy.
Where you going….Tirana ? I liked it there and the locals were mostly friendly considering we were playing them at football. I wonder if the Lady Diana Pub is still operating
Tirana for a day then hiking for a couple of days then a beach day before home. Raising a few quid for charity along the way.
Then you are actually Albanian and didn’t realise it…..I assume you go out wearing a black leather jacket ?
Been out all day and had a rather nice lunch in a small bar/restaurant in an East Cork village..... now there were only 2 others in there,an English chap with his girlfriend/partner/wife/mistress or he may have been a Gigalo as he thanked her for paying for lunch "again"... anyway the conversation was basically him giving a running commentary of the cricket and trying to explain the rules/laws of the game.... as least I kind of knew what was happening.... The Bairstow dismissal leaves a bad taste and the role played by the umpire at the non striker end.... did his actions indicate that the over was complete and ball dead..... he wasn't looking at the action apparently.... Still hopefully England will take it out on them on Thursday, 3-2 is still on....
Rules are rules l guess but its not what l favour. Bairstow was naïve to do as such but ............ As you say, l do believe its unsportsmanlike and just like bowlers running out batsmen as they are about to bowl, its not in the spirit of the game. Summary - I can't stand bad sportsmanship from anybody and it seems, both teams are guilty. There seems to be quite a bit of niggle in it between the two teams with some unsavory actions occurring throughout the series.
What have Englsnd done to compare with what Carey did ? Bairstow deliberately wpied his foot behind the crease before walking off to chat with Stokes. Surely that was him saying, look I'm in my crease and now the ball is dead. Almost guaranteed Bairstow will be throwing down the stumps almost every delivery for the rest of the series, and things could become very uncomfortable for whatever umpires are on duty. Expect England to be seriously pumped for the next game. Wood simply has to play if 95% fit. Keep Tongue too and possibly bring back Ali to strengthen the tail. Jimmy just doesn't look himself and should be rested, although Robinson has hardly pulled up any trees either !
Rules are rules, like you can’t take sandpaper on the pitch and the law about bowlers running out batsmen as they are about to bowl has been re written this year to stop batters taking an advantage in leaving too early. Carey and his team were wrong to claim that wicket. It was getting close and the Aussies were unsportsmanlike, no change there in their behaviour
