They're in a far healthier position than Leeds or Leicester, both financially and squad-wise. Lots of young, valuable assets like Lavia, Bella Kotchap etc. The ones they don't sell are all on long contracts and/or recently joined so they can be the base of their squad in the coming season.
I know a couple of people in there and they pretty much accepted the fact they where down very very early into the season and have been planning accordingly. They think long term it will be the best thing for them and it's hard not to agree really. They have a fantastic club set up and if they go straight back up then they won't have any problems. As you say, Leeds and Leicester are a totally different story and could be a difficult one for them, especially Leeds
They are aiming to keep most to be honest. The couple of obvious ones will go. But they have the backing to keep most
I know some of the names will go but they looked good going forward. The pace in that squad is something else. I have visions of Jones, McLoughlin and Greaves getting fleeced time after time.
Yeah I'm thinking guys like Lavia, Tella, JWP maybe, maybe a couple of others, the real gems will probably go, but there's plenty of other good talent there.
Leicester are somewhat in the ****. Lots of their most valuable players are out-of-contract so they won't get a fee for them. Seeing a player like Tielemans leave on a free must sting. Their best and most valuable players like Maddison, Barnes and Dewsbury-Hall will probably go which will give them some money to reinvest. From what I can tell, a lot of Leicester fans believe a lot of their players downed tools last season and don't want to be there and didn't have the stomach for a relegation scrap. They won't want to stick around in the Championship either.
Their other issue is I don't believe they have relegation clauses for all their players which will restrict their budget.
Just seen a flashy, silver sports car drive past my work in the middle of town. Stuck out like a sore thumb. Looked like a BMW i8 with a young couple in it. New signing perhaps?
The Correct spelling of Turkey! (Not Turkiye as the HDM insists on - or do they call France "Francais", Spain "Espana" etc.?)
It's not, it's the Turkish spelling, almost everyone in England still calls it Turkey. Something that really pisses off Erdogan, who now insists on all factories putting Made in Turkiye labels in all the clothing they make, wherever they're going.
It is, they requested the change. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-61671913 It's the Republic of Turkiye and just commonly referred to as Turkey.
I know they requested it, but it's largely been ignored, the BBC (who's article you've just quoted) still refer to them as Turkey.
The UN adopted it and just because others ignore it doesn't mean it's wrong, just that it's been ignored.
Complete mess? Huge turnover? Really? What makes you you say that? Leeds could have been in a mess but it looks like the buyout is going through, so I don't see why they would be 'a complete mess'. In fact, it could well be a much better situation for them compared to having the Italian owners. Also have a very good academy, as do the others. Leicester have issues, but 'complete mess'? I don't see it. Similar with Southampton, as others are already saying. Btw, I really hope you are right.
