I think we need to try and get hold of players from L1 and L2 who are likely to do well in the Championship. Fill our squad up with Lower League standard players and we'll go down there soon enough. Far from sure either Scowen or Smith are good enough.

I think it's going to be a bumpy, ugly season fighting off relegation. Nothing to date has inspired me with any confidence that it will be any different. We have clueless owners, a hoof ball manager, **** players, no money to spend and a piss poor recruitment team and process. This could be one of the fastest declines in football.

I hate to be pessimistic but stabilising the ship, staying in the division and riding out the current wave of financial woe has got to be the top objectives haven't they? We can look at signings like Smyth (if it happens) as a lack of progression but we've got to be pragmatic, this is where we are. Like Bob says it's gonna be bumpy and ugly, I'm just ing hoping and praying GA surprises us.
