Fine margins. I’ve been saying for years that Crawley does JUST enough to stay in the team. Like Peterson said, he should have gone onto a big, big score. In, settled, great batting track and not a cloud in the sky. Same old story.
Brook's dismissal was totally freakish but he's got to be aware of where the ball's going and defend his wicket. He didn't even look; he could have headed it away.
hmmm. i got distracted for 2 minutes and three wickets have disappeared. i suppose 350+ is not too shoddy, but another 100 or even 50 would be nice. the oz wicket keeper is doing too well.
this is a bit odd from root. he's giving all the strike to robinson. 26 balls they've been together and robinson has faced 23, including singles off the sixth ball of at least two overs. root has faced three and scored three singles.
Still not sure I agree with declaring in the first innings. No cloud cover and the ball’s doing nowt.
If we’d posted 450+ and had exceeded what was deemed a par target I might have got it. With us scoring sub 400 it made little sense to me. Add in the fact that the pitch looks like a batters track, there was no swing or seam movement with no cloud cover and it made even less.
