Stokes is the main proponent of Bazball, but he seems to be the least able of England's batsmen to execute it.
Reckon you're onto something there Stroller. In which case Stokes should be playing his own way and ignore trying to adapt to Bazball. Root and Bairstow getting a good partnership going. England should be over 300 by stumps and if no more wickets fall, then England in box seat.
That's what I mean. He plays with aggression, but he needs to forget about trying more and do what he has done best. Just play his own game.
240/5 at tea.... Going to be a long final session as only 52 overs bowled....carry on at this rate and England would be close to 400 at end of pla.... Off course the aussies might nick a few cheap wickets and might have to bat this evening....
We need these 2 to keep going to close of play. If they can stay there then we'll be in a decent position, it's gonna be hard work bowling the Aussies out on this wicket . Got to get as close to 400 as possible !
Well done Jonny Bairstow. Now he’s trying to hit Lyon out of the attack. Hazelwood and Cumins are excellent bowlers. Lyon has a great record but I don’t know how’s he’s got it. The other two, Boland and Green, have a lot to prove at this level.
please log in to view this image Like the way Boland has been targeted..... usually ties up one end but has gone for 86 from 14 overs..... smart work...
The defensive field is mystifying. England are going to keep scoring whatever, might as well give yourself a chance of getting them out. A proper first slip would have made a good chance a sitter. Jonny at nearly a run a ball……massive wicket for the Aussies. I have no idea if Moeen has any form with the bat.
And there was Smith the other day saying that England hadn't played Australia, hinting that England were flat track bullies..... Well by that token Australia hadn't played England either.....he's now seeing it up close.....
