Their new owners (may) have the financial firepower to buy him - especially recognising that they paid a lower price for the Club following its relegation

The PL fixtures are out at 9am tomorrow - Soton won’t (obviously) be included, thereby officially confirming their Championship status. I’m told to expect an announcement after that - hopefully, tomorrow will see Russ officially on his way
It was the EFL AGM last week and I believe it was at that meeting that officially confirmed Southampton as a Championship club. So the negotiations are still ongoing!
I was always led to believe by my contact that nothing would happen before the 14th and that the announcement would follow the publication of the PL fixtures.
There are a number of issues at the minute, not least our Yankee doodle dandies playing hardball over a few shekels! Add to that the fact that RM's family have settled so well and love the Gower so much, they do not want to move, so expect this farce to rumble on for some time, and it would not surprise me if RM stays.....

Not sure about that, though most of my info comes from my son who works for a local company that has maintenance contracts on a number of our players homes, and backroom staff.....
