to be fair half of them are going. Kante gone to saudi (i think) Kovacic to City Mount will be off. Zakaria is a loanee Not got that many centre midfields left unless we move havertz back there (who supposedly le arse want). Jorginho went last summer. Only got gallagher, enzo and loftus cheek left and i dont rate loftus cheek at all
Isn't Mount a bit different to Maddison btw, gets forward more? And do you rate Maddison higher than Mount? Clearly we don't but if that's Chelsea's plan they must do.
I'll always remember that Cup Final goal ... but he was offered a contract extension which would have enabled the club to have got a decent fee but decided to just run it down ... he was hoping that a CL club would come in for him in January but he wasn't doing enough to attract any genuine interest from any of the big boys ... just constant linking with Arsenal... Lot of blame lies with Brenda - instead of just putting him on the bench, Brenda went and made him captain ... material for which he certainly ain't ... OK he didn't do an Ozil on us ... but he wasn't fully committed either ...
not sure if thats chelseas plan or because mount has 1 year left and won't sign a new one without being paid like a superstar which i don't think he is. Not sure what maddisons work rate is like but i think he just has a bit more end product and is a bit more physical and tricky. Mason works hard and his solid all round but i think he lacks the consistency in a killer pass and he's a bit too lightweight on the ball without the speed to get away from people defending. We sort of playing mount as an inside forward (one of the wing positions) so i don't like him there as we lack that out and out threat imo. He's probably better in a midfield 3 I think Maddison is better at that aspect of the game than him
He's arguably the most creative central midfielder in the Prem ... certainly the stats over the last 2 seasons support that ... particularly as we were a struggling side ...
In the seasons that they played together we finished 5th (Chilwell left before Fofana joined).... and we won the FA Cup in Fofana's debut season
