You go girl, whoop, whoop! P.S, This term is used a lot in the U.K. vernacular, but from where did "toerag" come about? Please don't say The U.K. I'm interested to learn its origin and therefore, perhaps, its original meaning.
From Urban Dictionary.... Toe Rag A toe rag was originally a foot wrapping used, since mediaeval times up until the mid-nineteenth century, to protect the foot from chafing by boots or shoes. As these were, quite literally, rags they weren’t usually washed, and so with use they became very smelly until they were thrown away. Because of the similarity in smell, toe rag also became the name applied to dried, salted cod or other things with a strong, unpleasant, fishy smell. It didn’t take that long before the name was applied to someone who was an obnoxious, unpleasant OIC. 1 “Socks! Those aren’t socks you smelly git, they’re toe rags!” 2 “What have you been cooking? Smells like toe rag!” 3 “I can smell ‘er fanny from ‘ere, proper toe rag.” 4 That Heale Malcolm is a right toe rag
Thanks Steels. Thought as much but couldn't find it definitively (read : couldn't be arsed to look it up).
A fiver? He'd only need 10p, if that. I think five would cover all of us ..... on Not 606. (Too sexist? Apologies in advance).
The House Of Lords is an unelected bastion of sleaze and corruption, where outgoing Prime Ministers can put in their mates for past and future favours. It needs to be abolished
I actually think it has a valuable role. Being filled with cronies with no expertise in anything dilutes its ability to do anything meaningful but the idea in theory makes sense to me if only as a small brake on government power.
Your true colours are showing now Bracknell. it’s an archaic system of abuse that should have no place in a modern democracy. It’s need disposing of into the sewer of history
More evidence of a corrupt and immoral political class. Seems that whichever party they represent, they are in it for themselves and hold the public in disdain. ****ing sick of the lot of them. Is it any wonder that people don't bother voting
You always have to wonder why pollies drop out of public life suddenly. This is a prime example. Or should I say, First Minister example. Recently, the W.A. (West Australian) Premier walked out of office citing stress of office (I think) as the reason. Hmmm. Let's see what happens in 3-6 months. Have to say, hope nothing because he's been a pretty fair Premier for W.A. Really liked by majority of state, especially due to his work in closing borders during Covid Pandemic. He didn't take any **** from anybody, including the Prime Minister, the Right (wing) Honourable, holier than thou, Scomo (good riddance).
