Dont worry bro it's not forever. Pep will be away in a few year and it'll be a level playing field again.

You linked with Manu Kone? He's absolutely the type of player who would work in your team and what you're looking for.

Not been as impressed with the snippets of Thuram I've seen (if you're talking about Kephren) but wont claim to have seen that much of him. The games he's played in I've watched he was "ok" but a bit of a passenger. Only young though but he didn't look an upgrade on Curtis Jones to me.

Yeah your CM positions have been slightly left to rot but it's better to have a few positions to upgrade a lot than every position to upgrade a bit.

To be fair I've just wiki'd them to see if my opinions of them were in the right ball-park and it turns out Kephrem has more games, more goals and has played for the France first team whereas Kone has not. Possibly basing my views on about 3 games I've seen him in isn't enough to claim I know anything about him either.

PS. also noticed he's 6ft 4. That's an Eddie Howe player there if ever I saw one, 22 y/o, 1 international cap and really tall.

Newcastle will ensure it’s not a level playing field. They’re already ahead of schedule and will only get stronger

    a) that's @Saff he's been a big Pep fan for ages. Hard to argue with him in that regard

    b) was chatting rubbish with someone the other day and we were disagreeing over whether W.Ham had had a good season. My view was that a European final, combined with not really getting involved in a relegation scrap is a result for most Premiership teams even if you did much worse in the league than previously - hard to balance a squad on all fronts. What's your view on your season, or does it hinge entirely on the result in the final?

yeah, I thought it was Sucky crying about Pep for the 1,000th time. I've since changed it to a quote from sucky crying about Pep for the 1,000th time. Added the Sucky crying abut Pep gif. Normally I'd use a different gif each time, but I realised there simply wouldn't be enough gifs available to post a new one everytime Sucky cried about Pep.

Saff supports Sunderland...will never be affected by City's sport washing...he can see past the bit that affects the surrounding clubs and he can enjoy the Pep show

West Ham will never be anywhere near top 6. City's sport washing doesn't really have an affect on Ern's team...plus his subconscious hatred for Manchester United influences his choice

Haslam's club became the latest Sports washing venture so he has to show support for the old ones or he looks a hypocrite...he's dying on that hill.

It all makes sense and is understandable

Tottenham's and Liverpool's demise lately has nothing to do with City or Pep. It's bad management in all areas of your clubs. Greedy chairman and bad managers ruining your team on the pitch.

    wow 55m for alexis mccalister.

Think the pool just got ripped off. If they wanted the argentinian robbie savage they could have just kept milner in there to run around and foul people

Apart from when we finished top 6, you mean?

And it's more about FFP, unless it's applied back to 1888 and the start of professional football and all the clubs that had a sugar daddy invest in them at some point in the 145 years in between, get the same punishment, it's bullshit.

Correct but that's not really the debate bro

Two non entities of clubs like mid table City and relegation regulars Toon become different animals over night after some sports washing takeovers and the ball game changed...or did it not?

Anyway...like I said I understand the comfort with which fans of certain clubs are at ease with the praise and why.

Yeh apart from that one single time

That was clearly the exception and not the rule so your club not affected enough for you to feel it

I can't even be subtle about this, it is mostly that.

I also think that it's easy to see them as a fairly neutral club (I had no particular opinion about Man City prior to their success) and can therefore just enjoy the football. Many other sides, and their fans, have histories of being a touch obnoxious (though that's mostly just Liverpool, Man Utd and to a lesser extent Chelsea) and I'll accept an amount of that is probably just jealousy because they were successful. I've worked with so many Liverpool and Man U fans who see their club as having a right to be the best and they deserve to win everything. Never met a City fan who is anything other than grateful. Don't meet many City fans at all though to be honest.

The 14 years of Mike Ashley really did redefine how everyone saw us. Prior to that we'd been relegated fewer times than Man Utd (and only spent a couple more years outside the top flight than them). People talk about a "big 6" as if it's always been that way when in truth only Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool had storied history of being there everything else is recency bias. All football fans have selective memories and use it to argue where they "should be" in the league and that they're a bigger club than they really are. Nothing wrong with it but it's not exactly rational.
