good to see you're back to your miserable rain man piss on the parade self <ok>

I just doubt they will I mean they would want a nice new stadium to showcase their brand to the world surly? I think it's more likely going to be Nobbys nuts or pot noodle.

As for those saying tradition and the like (me amongst them) there is no room in modern football for sentiment just look at the fact owners a few months ago wanting to scrap relegation to protect their investment and sky money also the extra game malarkey played in the far east/rich Arab countries so where is the tradition in that.

This is the start of franchising!! If this franchising ever got the go ahead, then the renaming of the stadium would be a minor issue, as the club's name would potentially be up for sponsorship too.

Most other sports have followed the advertising route, football has withstood this due to the high value of shirt sponsorship and TV rights.

It's the route it's heading in everything will be reviewed if it can earn cash, never heard one of us complain when we were in the champions league(done away with tradition) despite not winning the league.
The point i was making but waffled on a bit is how can the modern fan be that surprised that stuff like this happens when we've lost traditional things like the European cup (champions only) the uefa cup and the cup winners cup plus every cup has a different name now and the leagues are called something else tradition sold for a price guess you just don't expect it to be your club.

Why do people keep saying; 'There's nowt we can do about it, so whats the point of discussing it?

Doesn't that make the whole point of this forum void?

Why would they want a nice new stadium, when they could buy the naming rights to a historical stadium in football? Business wise, to a company like Nike, buying the St James' Park naming rights would actually be a good thing as it sends out the right message.

so what can you do about it other than moan? instead of pissing on others views put forward some of your own there is one solution i can think of but am now interested in what you'd do

let me put it this way i know your comments might not be aimed at me esp. when i said nothing of the sort about not being able to do anything about it but why are people so surprised when it happens to their club but are quite happy to let it happen to other traditional things in football and say **** all

Yeah, why would they be interested in a beautiful 50,000+ stadium that is showcased in the most watched football league in the world? Would make no sense.
