From some of the topics I've posted in the past, you can probably tell I like music and film. I've noticed films these days, there aren't many memorable one liners or quotes in films. So, it's pre season, no football and just rumours, what's everyone's favourite film quotes/monologue? Daft? Funny? serious? memorable?Motivation?

Monologue, it's a coin toss between

Toto, I've a feeling were not in Kansas anymore.

Louis, I think this the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

If you build it, he will come.

Everybody relax, I'm here (Jack Burton, in case it is obscure)

Oh no, it wasnt the airplaines, it was beauty that killed the beast.

Two of my absolute favourites there. But I'm going to add this from "Unforgiven" :-
"I've killed women and children. I've killed everything that walks or crawls at one time or another. And I'm here to kill you, little Bill, for what you done to Ned."

This from "The Godfather":-
"Barzini's dead. So is Phillip Tattaglia, Moe Greene, Stracci, Cuneo. Today, I settle all family business, so don't tell me you're innocent, Carlo. Admit what you did."

From "The Shawshank Redemption":-
"Get busy living or get busy dying. That's goddamn right. For the second time in my life, I'm guilty of committing a crime. Parole violation. Course, I doubt they're going to throw up any road blocks for that. Not for an old crook like me. I find I'm so excited I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it's the excitement only a free man can feel. A free man at the start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope."

You can’t handle the truth! Son we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Whose gonna do it you? You Lieutenant Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility that you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and you curse the Marines. You have the luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know, that Santiago’s death while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence while grotesque, and incomprehensible, to you, saves lives. You don’t want the truth because deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall! We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something, you use them as a punchline. I have neither the time, nor the inclination to explain myself, to a man who rises and sleeps, under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide them! I’d rather you just said ‘thank you’, and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don’t give a damn, what you think you are entitled to!

First time I watched that film I thought it was really slow until about halfway through it and Clint Eastwood just seems to switch on and ****ing unreal performance and get his game face on. Brilliant movie.
