Aye that would be a good challenge for him, I'm still hoping Man U are daft and decide to loan him back to us...unfortunately they seem to be a bit more professional these days with Ten Hag.

They did loan him back to me on Football Manager 2023 mind :emoticon-0102-bigsm

There's no chance Amad returns in my opinion.

Dutch league would suit his style of play, and if its Feyenoord he will play in the champions league. Was class watching him here though.

I'd be very surprised if he plays for Mancheter United next season. I think they'll be challenging for the league. I don't see Diallo getting in their side.

I expect them to sell him within the next couple of seasons to an Italian/Spanish club - hope not like would love to see him playing week in week out in the Premier league

The CL football at Feyenoord, yeah. The week to week Dutch league standard not so much.

Personally don't see Neil as a holding midfielder and don't particularly like it when he plays there, gets caught in possession or just slips over half the time, just my opinion mind. Think he's much better as a conventional no.8, with a holding midfielder behind him.

I don't think Amad gets to make that choice.

People are making the counter point that it's no good him being in a team at the bottom of the Premier League, but to me, he could play pretty regularly for any team outside of Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and perhaps Man Utd.

I don't see him as a traditional holding midfielder anyway, more of a pivot in the style of Xabi Alonso (but with short passing not long passing). A controller rather than a ball winner. Let the other lads win the ball higher up.

Don't know that much about the Dutch Eredivisie but it’s rated the 6th best in the world which surprised me a bit.

Agreed but COULD is the operative word and its another factor United need to consider. They've been burnt before with players going on loan places they COULD be starting. There is benefit to them of him going somewhere he is already settled and embedded rather than risking a wasted year of bit-part football

Like I've said, I think its unlikely. It's just not as cut and dried as many (including me initially) had been making out.

I see every point you’ve made except that one. He improved exponentially under Mowbray last season. There is nothing to say he won’t continue in that vein. It makes sense from a perspective of a player. Whilst I agree Utd may want him at a higher level. There’s nothing which tells me it doesn’t make sense coming back here. As has been said, Utd can keep an eye on him and will have him at a club fighting at the top. Or they could loan him to Luton! Which would be more n a higher league but more detrimental to his career

He’s not getting to get loaned to Luton :emoticon-0102-bigsm

But the point he’s making is what’s to gain from Diallo coming back to a 2nd tier league that he’s already proven he’s a cut above in?

I think he’d love to come back and we’d all love him back it would be incredible, but I just don’t see how it’s good for his development to take the piss out of the likes of Plymouth and Preston next year when he could be playing regular CL/Europa league football and taking the next steps to proving himself at a higher level.

Amad was incredible when playing on the right wing but it limited Roberts a bit, who is imo the best winger in the league. I really think he could be a star next season for us.

I think we need to focus on getting a number 10 in.

If im united i would be trying to loan him out to a top side in spain, Italy or Germany. Those leagues are very tactical so would be good for his development to learn a different side of the game

I also think a team like fulham would be a cracking loan for him in terms of PL sodes.

He wont be back (i hope he is but the chances are so slim) and i agree with what others have said its not necessarily about replacement him with a like for like player but aboit bringing in a player that gives us a different option than we had this yr

I havent watched him for aboit 6 months but zidane iqbal is a player id like us to look at. Could play as more a traditional no10 than amad

I agree that an attacking midfielder / 10 is a priority. A playmaker with goals in them would improve us.
On Amad it’s a tougher call for United than is being made out. He’s had a bad loan in a poorer league and arguably got worse, then he’s had a good loan in a poorer league. He’s got class no doubt but the wrong loan and he could get back to square one. They need to maintain his confidence while testing him. Not saying that’s us but it’ll be an option. If he can’t get the right move to the right team run by the right person or stays and doesn’t play that’s no good for United or him. Either way it’ll likely be an August decision or at least a post pre season decision and we can’t hang about.

Good point about Roberts Daz, was going to say the same, Roberts seemed to defer to Amad when he should have gone on himself like the Watford game.
Can't remember but was Amad in the team v Reading away?

I actually think Jes Rak-Sakyi would be incredibly close to like-for-like, could potentially be even better. Interested to know @Scout73 's thoughts?

There’s the horror possibility that Amad could go on loan next season to the Arabs up the road.
    He wouldn’t…..would he?
