Yeah I kinda agree. It’s ****ing impossible now to put a price on a player or figure out what’s reasonable anymore. Ferguson ain’t worth the £100m being reported so you’re paying the premium for potential. Watkins I would imagine would command a similar fee. Hopefully we have a few of our own at the club in Miley, Ashby and Kuol…possibly more to come in the next couple of years.
Thanks I might just stay off the forum during that period, to avoid all the in-depth debates about players we won't be signing.
Yeah, should be extra interesting this summer. But equally most of the transfer chat will most likely centre around lazy news paper talk of links to 100s of players. And as the club has shown before, it's likely that none of those will be the ones we actually sign. I just find it's a lot of wasted time & energy debating the transfer market. i'll leave all that to Ashworth & co to sort out and then see who we actually have after deadline day.
Got to be smart and look at those out of contract next summer... https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pre..._id=alle&altersklasse=alle&land_id=0&yt0=Show A lot of quality there - players in the final year of their contract are more affordable.
They're not all clear cut as some clubs will have options to extend in the players contracts, like West Ham with Rice. This means that a potential buying club won't get much discount on such players.
