He didn't give the ball away once apart from his shots .. OK they've were not great efforts but he was solid and went off exhausted. Newcastle were worse after the changes.
Time to get Bruno and Big Joe to tap up their mate Vini. Let him know it's a lot more welcoming in Newcastle.
Any player who comes into the team without having played a game from the start for a while never looks up to speed Remember Kraft when Tripps got injured? He played better and better the more games he got I’m prepared to cut the lad some slack
I know he’s recently signed a new contract with Brighton but we all know that’s to bump up any potential transfer fee but I’d be tempted to have a sniff around Ferguson. He looks like he is gonna be the real deal, nowhere near the £100m player tag they are putting on him at that age but £50m-£60m could possibly tempt Brighton to sell. He’s only 18 and probably not even worth that but it seems you pay a premium for potential these days just as much as proven quality. If you look at some of the silly money Chelsea have paid for the likes of mudryk, Fernandez, Cucerella etc I reckon £50m - £60m is about right i reckon. Wilson probably has one more season in him for us, two absolute max…I’d happily get shot of ASM to fund a deal for Ferguson like…100%
I don’t think that would tempt them. I’m certain he would happily stay there at least until he’s 21 and then Brighton potentially have a £100-120m player
He should just stay where he is for now esp if he wants 1st team football. Much more likely to get that competing with Undav / Wellbeck instead of Wilson/ Isak
I wonder though if it would be worthwhile a deal like we post them £10m to have first option with an agreed price in next 3 years?
I'm looking forward to when Dan Ashworth and scouting team can start finding our own Ferguson's, Mac Allister's, Mitoma's, Cucarella's, etc. without having to sign quality players for big money.
It's taken a while. Even then, I think he might be the first mainstream media person I've heard speak it out loud.
