To be honest if Saints won the Prem, then I simply wouldn't care if we got relegated all the way to the National League.

If you did a combined Leicester and Saints eleven. I mean, Lavia would get in, as would KWP. But other than that...? Possibly Beddy I guess.

(Shows again how important a competent keeper is).

Would take Perraud over Thomas who makes our youngsters look like PL superstars.

Don’t rate their forwards much either, although against ours they are better but not by much

Yeah, that's a fair shout too. Their forwards are better though, definitely. Even so, at best it's 3-4 players from Saints.

Maddison has more talent in his toenail than all of our playmakers combined.

    Edit: Except Charly of course.

Amounts to a suspension of 18-20 PL matches between this/next season, plus other competitions. Don't expect we'll see him in an England kit for some time after that, either.

Ouch!! Does anyone know what his offences were?

Seems a bit harsh if he was just gambling on the odd game

I think it was a bit more than the odd game.

Something like 180 or so betting convictions. Isn't harsh enough, he knew the rules.

232 breaches, according to the FA, over four years.

Can he go on loan abroad for 6 months and play outside of the fa?

Nope. Trippier was still banned when he joined Atletico from Spurs.

Wasn't Joey Barton banned when he went to France but could play?

Believe the difference is a match ban versus ban from the sport. Barton was banned for ____ matches, which applies within leagues governed by the FA, while Toney/Trippier were banned from the game for a period of time, in which case the reciprocal agreements with other governing bodies kick in. Same thing with Adrian Mutu: when he was banned for failing drug tests, he couldn't play, couldn't train, etc. He signed a contract with Juve while suspended, but still couldn't return to football until the suspension ended.

Thanks Schad. I was just curious from an English stand point. I don't really give a hoot about Brentford.

I would have been slightly irritated if losing to Brentford had made a difference to us, but frankly they could have Ivan Toney or Swiss Tony up front, and they still would have beaten us.

So apparently the fa are applying to fifa to make the ban worldwide. It's currently just an English ban.
