I'll be honest Richards scares me based on the little we saw of him. There were flashes of potential but he has the weirdest body language i think I've ever seen, the shoelace incident being the most notable moment. That said if we can at least keep Chair so we aren't pinning our attacking threat entirely on him he might have a better chance of coming good.
Be a while now before the next news. They have a meeting scheduled to discuss the setting up of a meeting to determine when to agree a strategy meeting over 4 sessions (one per week) to look at squad numbers. Final meeting after that to agree budget. Mop-up meeting to sign off budget. Then meeting with the scouting team and their amazing data to select possible targets (this could be postponed as the season will have started). Any adverse results could result in further review of the management team and possible replacement. If agreed, return to paragraph above
Ian McCullough WLS said yesterday it's 25%. According to him Newcastle bid more than Palace, but Eze wanted to go to Palace. A deal was done to help Eze by getting Palace to agree the higher than normal all-in % as compensation to us for not taking Newcastle's higher offer.
Great news. The first meeting held and discussed with no firm agreement on next stage meeting due to calendar mix-up. But a lot of smug faces and back patting over Eze deal add-ons (despite GA mentioning nothing has been triggered). Still others felt felt no rush needed anyway.
Looks like we haven't learnt our lesson of having players at the end of their careers. If we must retain him then it should only be on a pay if your played basis.
****ing hell Ferdinand, Hoos and Ramsey all still have their seats at the table, when they are back from their well earned holidays. Expect more of the same skilled and dynamic leadership then, illustrated by a stunning footballing philosophy, strategic recruitment, wonderful kids breaking into the senior team and a miraculous level of control over the finances. And a manager getting sacked in November.
