LUKE Amos is one of six QPR players who will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of June. Leon Balogun, Olamide Shodipo, Conor Masterson, Charlie Owens and Ody Alfa will also be departing Loftus Road. As part of his recovery from injury, centre-back Balogun will continue to be based at QPR during pre-season. Chris Martin, Jordan Archer, Elijah Dixon-Bonner, Aaron Drewe and Stephen Duke-McKenna remain in discussions with the club regarding their futures. Taylor Richards’ loan has automatically become a permanent, three-year deal with Rangers remaining in the Championship next season - while the club have also exercised the options to extend the contracts of Chris Willock, Joe Gubbins and Charlie Kelman to the summer of 2024. Amos initially joined the R’s on loan from Tottenham in 2019 before making a permanent switch ahead of the 2020/21 campaign. He went on to make 95 appearances, scoring eight goals. Balogun came to Loftus Road last summer after departing Glasgow Rangers. He made 16 appearances, scoring once. Shodipo was brought through the youth system at Loftus Road before making his first-team debut on the opening day of the 2016/17 campaign. In total, he made 44 appearances in the blue and white hoops. Masterson came to the club after leaving Liverpool in 2019. He made a total of 21 appearances for the R’s, scoring once. Owens joined QPR from Tottenham in 2017 but a series of injuries curtailed his progress, limiting him to just three first-team appearances. Alfa came through the youth setup and spent much of his time out on loan, making one appearance for the first team. Finally, Tim Iroegbunam, Ethan Laird, Jamal Lowe and Tyler Roberts have returned to their parent clubs following the end of their respective loan spells. We wish all our departing players well for the future and thank them for their efforts with QPR
Richards is strange one & don’t know what make it, he didn’t play full game all season & now on a 3 year contract! Maybe a good pre season will help?
Injuries or not, three first team appearances for Owens in the best part of 6 years. Where do I sign?
I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Injured to begin with and then his best mate got murdered which is hard for anyone but for a kid especially. Assuming at least one of Chair and Willock go (probably both) he’ll have to be a big player for us.
