Strange how many of the ' he has to go, taken us as far as he can' brigade, are all of a sudden screaming, he should never have been sacked. Orta is the poison in our club and hopefully he'll be gone soon.

I honestly cant remember what I thought of Bielsa at the time.
Hindsight is a great thing though.
Same with Chelsea.....in hindsight, getting rid of Tuchel and replacing him with a Potter and then Frank......:emoticon-0119-puke:

I don't think Bielsa or Tuchel should have been sacked, both clubs now paying the consequences. I think Klopp should be sacked though, if only for the bantz.

At the risk of sounding too much like Roy Keane, the issue with the bottom clubs is they have no character.

As soon as they concede a goal they fold and give up, if they don't score in 20 minutes, they give up and turn to ****. You just need to hold out for that first 20 and you can easily beat them.

Tottenham might face problems with all 5 of them for that reason

nah, Tuchel wasn't going anywhere fast. Sure we could have kept him and got our top 4s but he's not the one for dominance. I rather we go and try to get the best.

I think we shoulda just stuck with Potter and had Boehly not buy a billion players. Anyway, hopefully the next boss has a bit more backbone about them than Potter

Fosse was certainly typing from the heart rather than the head. The way he made Southampton at home sound harder than Fulham away was without any logical basis. In truth you never know in football but given the respective games they have left you would expect Leeds and Everton to be bricking it more than Leicester and Forest. As a Southampton fan I assume you feel a calmness in the knowledge it's a bit late now for a realistic charge to safety. Those 2 points dropped to Arsenal at the end are a shame as otherwise you'd be one win from being back in the conversation.

    Oh well.

Gandering at Tuchel going to Munich, seems to have all gone wrong. But they're not ones for knee jerk reactions in Germany, so I suspect he will be given all of next season to set the record straight. It will work in the end.

Nagelsmann getting sacked is still funny though, never seen a club sack a manager and just be like "Oh mate, he's a prick, couldn't handle it anymore."

Saints fans are the only ones who I think would 100% take relegation on the chin and they're my sure bet to bounce right back up.

But then what will the expectations be of them? I can see Boehly contriving to get another couple of hundred million pounds worth of players in and tell them top 4 is the minimum. There's going to be 7+ clubs striving for top 4 next season and I'd have you guys at 4-6th favourites irrespective of who you sign. I'd bet good money that whoever you get in will not be there at the end of next season. Boehly comes across as a basket-case when it comes to football.

Chelsea need to sign a true and tested DoF, that's all they need. Then these Yanks can just focus on the cheque book.

Still not sure how they progress from here. Man City, Man Utd and Liverpool are all better shouts for the top 4 than them (teams are as good or better and the managers are settled and very good). Us and Arsenal it's hard to say as with European football it could stifle both clubs and make it easier for others to get in. Then you have teams like Tottenham and Villa who will be hoping to improve in the Summer and come back for a run at top 4 too. Feels like Chelsea are investing a lot into a very uncertain level of return.

Obviously top 4 is the expectation now.

When Tuchel was here, he unexpectedly won the CL but the prem league performances were so so.

2nd season, he got to some cup finals, CL was decent but again the prem side of things were par for the course. This season started pretty badly and looking at his history with other clubs, i don't think he'll ever manage to derive that consistency in the league. Likewise, his tactics were pretty bland. I suppose i shoild cut him some slack as with James and Chilwell in the side, we looked good with him and they were unavailable for a lot of it, but for some reason i never really took a massive liking to him.

I just felt we were regressing with him and i cannot honestly think of many players improving significantly with him as a coach
