Yup. Whenever Darlow’s mentioned to him by the media, Rosy gets a semi and says we’ll do everything to sign him permanently. When asked about Pelkas and Ebiowei it’s ’we’ll wait and see’. Doesn’t sound enthusiastic. There must be a dozen young wingers in the PL we could sign on loan next season that would be a better fit for us than Ebiowei. I’d seriously question Rosenior’s judgement if he wanted Ebiowei for another year. Sinik or one of our own academy lads deserve more opportunities for us than him.
the romance of it, and I don’t think his wages will be that huge surely in the Uruguayan league. I reckon he’d be quality off the bench and surely has better feet and more mobile then Oscar.
Darlow is 100% wanted and he's very keen to be here, but he's on a very good contract at Newcastle untill 2025 ( I've been told it's approx £27k a week ) and would need to take a decent drop to come to us permanently. I'd love him back next season as I think him and Ingram would be a fantastic pair to have as our keepers. realistically a season long loan would probably be the best outcome for all and financially the easiest.
I can't see why he'd want to leave Uruguay to come back to Europe. He's had 6 clubs since leaving and that probably says an awful lot
For someone so critical of players in our squad you sure do have some strange ideas about how to improve it.
If he's only on 27k and Pelkas is on either similar or more, does he really need to take a decent drop?
I agree about Ebiowei and if Liam was to keep him on next season. Though I do get the feeling Liam realises the Championship was a step too far for him at present, he needs game time to build his confidence and to see if he has the necessary desire, and maybe Div 1 would be a better level for him at present. .
No,No,No... That was Eddie(though his surname was Yeats).Lodged with Hilda and Stan Ogden and worked on the bins. Not that I watch Corrie
Imo I think paying a keeper that kind of weekly wage in our financial position in the championship is a tad over stretching, especially when we already have a extremely capable keeper here on less then half of that. Plus other good quality keepers at champ level would be available for a lot less money. I think darlow is a fantastic keeper and I'd be very happy to see him back next season. But I personally would think a wage like that could be better spent on a top level CF/attacking player/ball winning midfielder. If you add in the potential transfer fee and wages etc for darlow it becomes a big outlay for us, I think a season long loan would be fantastic for all parties involved.
