Modern society wouldnt function if it couldnt moan about something mate. If you can find someone to blame all the better.Mind you the reaction to the alert being one minute early is way over the top.
Then you have some people getting annoyed because they didn't get it and others annoyed because they didn't want it. There was a woman on the news this morning kicking off as she didn't want the alerts as phones were a "personal" item, bloody hell man, I bet she'd be one of the first to complain if something happened and she wasn't informed. Just disable emergency alerts on the phone, no need to go on the news!
For things like this to work it depends on the mobile network infrastructure, sounds like Three mobile were the culprit for some note getting them.
To my mind this is a good idea. My moan was it should have been in place years ago. It is decent way of locally warning people. I remember not so long ago a dam was in danger if bursting, and flooding villages. This would have been a rapid way of telling residents to evacuate. I cant get my head around why anyone would turn it off, but that is their choice, it takes a few seconds to do.
