Reminds me of a contestant on some afternoon quiz show my wife was watching He was asked which herb also meant wise. He pondered for a bit and said he wasn’t sure but he remembered a fox on TV that was pretty clever so he would go with basil.
Think I’m in holiday trouble. The Lady thinks we’re going away next week. I haven’t booked anything. I’ve not said I have, just not said I haven’t. I’ve had a lot on … been a little busy.
Uh oh Tell her you’d booked Sudan but the travel company have cancelled it… (If that doesn’t work Travelzoo is good for last minute deals)
Took my Mum away to States a couple of years ago for her 80th and she was in the middle of treatment for separate, unrelated, cancers (she’d just had one op to remove something and was waiting radiotherapy for the other) Bit pricey but she got insured ok. I think she may have chosen to exclude the known cancer from the cover. That seemed sensible as it wasn’t anything that would suddenly need urgent treatment. All went fine. I think we used Staysure. I use them all the time now as they specialise in over 50’s and are good for winter sports too.
Thought yours would be through the roof with that knee problem!! Don’t tell me you never mentioned it to them den I don’t believe you
Thanks Den. Interesting re not disclosing something that would need immediate treatment. Guess it will cost what it costs. What would you class as a bit pricey?
I wouldn’t risk not declaring something. Especially if going to the States. Of course you could not bother then rely on a GoFundMe to get you home. That company Chazz mentioned get good reports.
Sorry I wasn’t clear You must disclose it, but then you can choose to have it excluded afterwards (or pay depending on cost) I can’t remember what it cost, but you can run it through online, certainly on Staysure, and get a quote before committing. I guess the risk would be something which was a complication of the cancer, but hers wasn’t likely to and we figured that even if they spotted something here it would take more than 2 weeks to get treated anyway, so she could just wait till she got home.
I nearly got run over in the States. I wish those bar stewards would drive on the right side of the road.
It's been four years since I last went abroad, which has been a bit weird, as I've spent spent over thirty years being out of the country for a couple of months a year. After I was very ill early last year, my missus convinced herself that if we went on holiday she'd wake up and find me dead (a bit dramatic, but it's what happened to her sister). Anyway, she's finally relented and we're off to Greece in June. She's not yet realised that's where her sister went.
