This is the thing many including a big heap of Spurs fans don’t seem to understand The Arabs and their sportwashing isn’t the only alternative to ENIC our last seemingly serious interest was from some Iranian billionaire no one had ever heard of there’s plenty like that in the world I get it the media only shows Arabs with their fake islands and flashy cars so people get suckered into it but that’s not the case.
I was really just thinking it would be very amusing if man united got shelved once again for cheaper club. I want them to wake up one day and realise something along those lines.
Nobody has ever said that there's no alternative to ENIC. There is, however, no other example of an owner getting a mid table PL club into the CL places on a regular basis without spending dodgy money. I would be entirely happy for a random multibillionaire to buy the club and inject a billion to improve the squad. But billionaires don't generally part with properly earned money so easily.
It's about countries buying clubs now and you'll not find many that keen in buying a club. If Tottenham want to compete they'll need an owner with serious clout ..none of those guys will be exactly mother Theresa. Who would you guys like ?
I didn't actually think we played all that badly in attack yesterday. We created quite a few decent chances which we would normally have turned into 3 or 4 goals. Our defence presented them with 3 goals though. Porro mistakes led to the first and second goals. I thought Sanchez was a bit unlucky getting his foot to the ball but just deflecting it into a worse position. Hojbjerg's efforts to recover other's mistakes for the first and third goals were pathetic.
I am wondering whether if a "critical mass" of them start to camp here, they will rcl Spurs into the top 4 at the expense of the Toon ...
Also tempting fate, given the last set of fans who routinely flooded our board when their team had their incredibly brief time in the sun are currently threatening to make Blackburn less unique...
Sanchez has also deleted his socials, reportedly after receiving death threats **** the toxic ****wits that insist on doing this
I hope that he has sent the abusive posts to the relevant authorities and that these morons are found and dealt with accordingly
I beg to differ Mother Teresa was a self serving bastard so a number of these guys will be exactly like her.
I’m getting sick and tired of everything around the club at the moment. It’s just ****ing toxic. The twitter fan base always is and will be but I can’t get on board with the abuse the likes of Sanchez and Porro are getting. The booing at half time also gets me. By all means at full time if it’s warranted but I don’t see how it helps at all while the game is still going on. Sing for Levy out or a new manager if that’s what you want but keep behind the team. The whole club smacks of entitlement, from the board to the players to a large portion of the fans. I seriously doubt the board have the stomach for the rebuild required and I’m starting to doubt a lot of the fans do either. The same ones loudly shouting for this manager or that will be the same ones calling for heads to roll if we have a season like Poch’s first in charge. Not talking about those on here btw but this board obviously isn’t a representative sample of Spurs fans. The whole thing stinks.
TBH the fans' entitlement stretches back the best part of two years, given there was a section ****ting on prospective managers for not being Big Enough™ (Paolo Fonseca especially), and that carried on through the January transfer window of last year when they were ****ting on Amrabat as soon as we were linked with him This does beg a quite pertinent question, though: if we did bring in the equivalent of 2014 Poch, would that particularly ****ing draining section of our fanbase accept them or turn on them for not being Big Enough™ and grace us with the next hilariously out of touch World of Gobshite blog?
Probably flew under the radar due to the horrendous nature of the game, but Son's goal means he draws level with Jermain Defoe in 6th spot on our all-time goal-scorers list with 143 in all competitions. Defoe did it in 2 fewer games. In a normal season he'd probably have overtaken Cliff Jones too (154), but that'll almost certainly have to wait for next season.
Quite so. And this is partly due to our relative success over recent years. Most of these fans cannot comprehend a situation where we are not in Europe and believe we are entitled to it. They will not remember the times when we were speculating (as a mid table team) that if we played particularly well in a season, we might get into the UEFA cup. And before that of course, we got relegated. Standing on the pitch after the last game in old Division 1 singing "we'll support you ever more" is probably not a position that many of the new entitled lot would understand.
So because you've seen us get relegated we should lower our expectations as a collective fanbase to that of a fan who should always be thinking that just being in the top flight is a blessing? And anything else is a bonus? Wow No I won't have such low expectations of a club valued at 4 billion quid by the owners
No, not what I said. I was commenting on the entitlement of some fans, not that we should not have ambition. I was also indicating that some of us have more perspective, not less expectation.
Nobody has ever said this apart from you. Everyone should want us to be the best club in the world...it's by what route we should get there where we differ. It's a sporting club. The ends don't justify the means.
