Good performance IMO, young Vaughan didn't look out of place and did well 2nd half. Macca was excellent, also Slater was very good. Not a bad game for a 0-0 er.
I thought at the start of the second half it was ours for the winning, but they ALL worked they're whatsits off... but there were some very tired legs out there at the end. Slater looked absolutely knackered, but he had missed 3 blades of grass.. Coyle who was obviously in pain deserves extra credit and as for Macca... what a Rolls Royce of a player he's become..
Credit to the team considering we had no striker in the squad. away point is always decent and a nice debut for Vaughan. Darlow is a cut above recent keepers too
I've definitely warmed to Darlow... comes and catches instead of punching and great to see at the end he took it on himself to say .. 'we're not playing out... its going up there!!'
Vaughan's debut certainly makes me wonder why we've bothered with Ebiowei. Loved his heart and worked his bollocks off
These are the kind of performances you want to see towards the end of the season. Players are playing for the shirt and to be in with a look-in next season. I just can’t wait for the strikers to be back because we are at least as good as these teams with play-off ambitions. Middlesbrough will be a great test to see how far we have come and if we give them a game, I’ll be even more optimistic for next season.
The way they played then, not the way they are playing. Didn't watch it myself. Norwich could have been total bab.
Blackburn Rovers boss Jon Dahl Tomasson: "With five games to go, we are still in the play-off places. If we had been told that at the start of the season, everyone would have taken it - and we have had two good runs in the cups as well. "We did enough to win it but we lacked quality in the decision-making and finishing. We took too many touches, instead of just shooting. "That is why it was a draw and not a win. We are disappointed with only a draw but, at this stage, each point can be important." Hull City boss Liam Rosenior told BBC Radio Humberside: "It was a really good game of football between two excellent teams. We played some really good stuff. "All in all, it was a really positive performance which we can build on, going into another tough game on Wednesday night. "The lads are standing up to everything we get thrown at us. If we keep performing as consistently as this then the results will come." In interview on Sky, Rosie voice had gone a bit from shouting so much
Good debut for the young lad , the team where so together fighting for everything. Probably had the best chance in the second half and overall considering we had our complete forward line out it was a great point against a top six side.
Great away point but I must take credit for my no nonsense MDT player’s took it to heart no ****ing about just get it done
Re Vaughan did not get a feed until half way through the first half and was interested to see how the lad was playing. After about 10 mins with no sign of said player I thought LR must have taken him off. But of course that was the case and eventually he turned up and promptly got bundled of the ball a couple of times. So was surprised to not see if yanked off at half time. However to give himn some credit he came back on a played some decent stuff. Controlled the ball well with both his head and feet. Ran with the ball confidently and made some decent passes again with both his head and feet. I have not seen many in the side pass the ball with their head well while on the run he did it on well on more than one occassion. Bodes well for the future hope he keeps his place against Middlebrough. Darlow looks to be an outstanding aquisition (assuming we sign him on a pemanent). Commands his are well and ouzes confidence in his box Gets everything in the air and if he does not get it has a great punch out. Mclaughlin was again outstanding. Man of the match for me.
Incredibly consistent since he came in. I really thought that last season although he'd done well in the middle of a back 3 (which can be the easiest role and one that a more limited player can sometimes manage in) there was a question of whether he could be relied on in a back 4 and whether he was a little bit error-prone. But he's totally cut out the mistakes this season and probably been even better in the back four. He and Jones have been as good a partnership as you could ask for at the back.
