Gotta say I completely disagree with this. Being able to have a friendly discussion with the ref allows for more understanding of decisions being made and a greater respect between officials and players.
Robotic refs that ignore players completely doesn't help iny opinion. Instead get the refs mic'd up let us see and hear the interactions between refs, var and players and crack down on dissent. Also reiterate that surrounding the ref is a form of dissent and anything like that will result in a yellow card.
For this incident if Robertson and the linesman had had a civil conversation about a decision there would not be all this nonsense
you mean like this earlier in the season against us because they weren't getting their own way

this is just intimidation of the ref, who or how many do you book here ?

And if that’s what they were doing I agree with you. But it’s not. The interactions are all about trying to influence decisions, express anger at the decisions and generally disagree. It’s a completely pointless exercise that wastes time and stops the flow of the game.
Once the players can accept the decisions and start treating the officials with respect then maybe they can have more interaction.
Civil discussions only work if both parties are willing to do that. The majority of interactions between officials and players you see, the players are not able to do that.
So for now I think a more hardline approach is required.
I agree with the hardline approach. Players should not be allowed to do what they are currently.

If there is an issue to be addressed then the captains of each team can discuss with the referee.

Players should be booked if they act intimidating.

As soon as that happens players will stop.

Book everyone who is not involved or wearing the captain's armband. If that results in 8 yellow cards then so be it.

Unless it's our club in which case the mental gymnastics and whataboutery will come into the equation.

Nope, same for the Toon. Players of all clubs including ours should hold themselves to higher standards than toddlers having tantrums. It's not much to ask now is it?

I think fans would accept it pretty quick as long as the punishment was applied consistently.
It would immediately turn into a farce if a ref didn't brandish the card

Fans in general want it both ways is what I'm saying . I'm not disagreeing you mate I just know they can't override their emotional decision making in the main.

4 pages of piss whiny geordies <laugh>

That 97th minute winner must still sting

Hypocrisy central here<laugh>

the FA should get their act together and sort out the punishment if any to Robertson before
the next round of games or at least issue a statement as to what they are doing about this
the PGMOL had taken steps to remove the assistant from the next couple of games the next day

Leeds play Liverpool on Monday and in the interest of fair play should know which players they are up against
normally the FA act straight away but this seems to be put on the back burner

Just a bit of banter petal... it's been quite the talking point in footy this week.

Hopefully that winner in the 142nd minute of injury time won't be of any consequence and we'll sail into the CL :emoticon-0141-whew: That goal could be a real highlight for you lads this season, so I hope you enjoyed it.

Cant find the 4 page cryathon when bruno Fernandes pushed a linesman a few weeks ago.

I guess Ill keep looking Yeh <laugh>

Liverpool only have modern history.

Before the 1974 FA Cup NUFC had won more major trophies than LFC.

Tbh, throughout history in terms of winning things, Arsenal have been the most consistent in terms of doing it over a long long period of time.
