I suppose I just find it tiresome when people constantly churn out negativity based on nothing more than prejudice. Unless there is some basis for criticism, 'happy ambivalence' seems like a more sensible position to take.

I'm sure some people are prejudiced, uneasy with the vast expenditure or perhaps anti-monarchy some of which is understandable. But it's also certain that some people have overly positive, and unshakeable, opinions based on their own leanings and very little information.

Diana is a typical example and some see her as a blameless, innocent victim who is beyond reproach. The truth is that she knew all about the machinations of the Royal Family before she chose to marry into it. You could say she knew more about the whole system than Meghan and should've known better.

I agree with almost every word of that. My own opinion is that the Monarchy is, overall, a good thing but that the individuals who make up the Royal Family are just human beings like the rest of us. They all have their faults and good qualities, like anyone else.
I do get tired of some of the negative opinions, which are often based on verifiably inaccurate information, from a small number of posters. My first post this morning contained what I thought was a very cutting and oblique reference to that, cunningly concealed within a reply to someone else :emoticon-0105-wink: <laugh>

Its only a matter of time before they split.

That's true and the prophecy of his book title will become doubly apt. Can't stay over there, can't come back here ...

... he'll end up fruit picking on an Australian farm with a bunch of permanently stoned backpackers.

Probably spend his time shagging older women round the back of the town pub <laugh>

I get the impression he would not go short!

Anyone believe the latest story about a 'near catastrophic' car chase around the famously open and quiet streets of New York?

They know exactly what memory they're playing on here. And right in the middle of the court case here in the UK as well.

Nope! I’m not a big fan of the royals, but Harry and Meghan are a pair of tabloid wet dreams!!! They’ll say anything to get attention and the red tops lap it up.

The driver saud te never felt in danger when interviewed.

He hasn’t been eeen since the interview…. (Last line is a joke by the way!!)

Err..No. For anyone who hasn't been to NYC it is now nigh on impossible to be involved in any car chase as the City is nearly always gridlocked.. Unless they have been driving on sidewalks, there is now way in the City itself save for FDR drive where you could be in 30mph traffic. The stories are changing by the minute but for them to use a yellow cab...ffs

Making out it’s all about the reporters driving dangerously. It takes two to car chase Harry. If it was that dangerous, you could have stopped your driver. Photograph’s wouldn’t have killed you .

I’m glad they’ve got away from here and can have a quite life and not seek attention, good on them<laugh>
