It's just down to the sheer step up in class, the difference between a top end champ keeper and top end Prem is absolutely huge.
Fair comment, but not so sure about that...there are some excellent keepers at the top end of the Champ. If Pope drops a few at Toon his place will be under pressure. Not sure why Toon got rid, unless Darlow, expressed a wish to play games. He is excellent, always has been, maybe the odd hiccup, but all keepers have them. If he's the quality benchmark, hopefully, we'll bring in a few good'uns over the summer and have a good go next season.

Not sure about what? That theirs a huge step up in class between a top end champ keeper and a top end PREM keeper?

You're right there is some very talented keepers at the top of the champ, but not one of them is anywhere near top end prem.

Newcastle didn't need him as they have an excellent No.2, who was on loan at Man United this season, until Newcastle recalled him.

One of our lads wore a West Ham shirt on Monday <laugh>

I saw them - they kept crossing their arms in front of their chest and he had a tube of bubbles which were blowing everywhere - plus he had Bowen on the back - no idea what the millwall fans thought of them

Re Darlow there is an interesting article on Sky Sports on why De Zerbi at Brighton prefers Steele in goal (at least at the moment) as opposed to Sanchez (who I infer is a better keeper between the sticks?). Bottom line Steele is is a better passer of the ball than Sanchez; De Zerbi like LR wants the best passer since his strategy is to invite the press and play out from the back.

Really interesting? Joe Hart’s career went into freefall as soon as Pep arrived at Man City.

Pep, follicle challenged, didn't like him doing the Head and Shoulders advert. Thought he was taking the pi$$ out of him. After all, Pep just buys shoulders.
