I was meaning on pitch attitude. Yesterday clearly showed we can do it when in the right mindset, it just took Xhaka to throw an elbow at Trent to piss them of before they grew a pair and showed some fighting spirit.

thar pissed me off as you should be showing that spirit due to professional pride not due to a bust up and the crowd reaction .

The most predictable thing about football is that it will be unpredictable.

You can only guess on things with "so much certainty". Our certainty to not be relegated next year is much higher than our certainty to get back in top four next year.

Do I think Klopp will win the title again in the next three years, no, but I say that no without much certainty. He's certainly got a good track record, but current years suggest teams are better at combatting Klopps approach now.

I think we need a couple but not much more
    Said that somewhere above
Was just saying that generally if you take a cog out of a Klopp team it messes up

either way I expect Klopp to sort it

We need more than a couple just to replace the ones that are leaving.

Even if we sign ready made players and the players that are getting on drop to the bench there's still some huge gaps to fill.

    Matip surely on his way.
Ox, keita, milner possibly thiago going from the midfield
    Bobby going too.

Henderson needs to be replaced long term, as does virgil.

We need a bloody big raft of signings just to make up the numbers. But that's what happens when you sign 1 or 2 every summer with no thought to the season after.

We have to have enough depth in quality to cope with injuries. For me, that’s a prerequisite. Right now, we don’t have the quality required in depth at CB, RB, CM (x3) and RW. That’s a lot more than a couple of cogs imo but I grant you, on their day, our team can beat anyone with those couple of extra cogs….but a title challenge…not realistic for me.

FSG were lauded for how they built a title winning and top team over the last few years and rightly so. However, when others look back, they will also be held up as how not to sustain such a team. I really want them to back Klopp, we have a relatively low debt so it can be done.

our side came together once alisson and vvd came in one after the other with the icing of fabinho on the cake.

we bought one or two each time

firmino, Henderson, milner and gomez were inherited and trent promoted.

the immediate buys of wijnaldum and matip were supplemented by mane who made a huge difference in that coutinho firmino mane forward line.

salah effectively completed that front 3 the following season

that's building a team. Once vvd and alisson arrived the team was complete.

where we are now is klopps gone after forwards, jota, diaz, nunez, gakpo. one after the other but as of today we have not see the "new front 3" to relay on for 5 years.

we've not exactly ignored midfield but thaigo was extremely short term buy and Elliott imo is just not a cm. we have left that midfield to age out and atrophy. not one single one of the 3 should start next season. not one.

the back line hasn't been ignored either. konate and tsimikas coming in. I do think vvds decline has been far faster then klopp thought.

if you are writing out klopps next team

alisson, trent, konate, diaz, gakpo, nunez are probably in it.

some folk need to have a big preseason imo. but at least 3 cms are required.

Still don’t think much wrong with the team. Next season

    ali
    taa Konate vvd robbo
    Cm1 Hendo/fab Cm2
    salah gakpo diaz

cm1 needs to be an energetic player, essentially a younger Hendo. Someone wit a defensive mindset that can cover the spaces TAA leaves.

cm2, can be the thiago/Gini type. Maybe even Bajcetic, someone comfortable on the ball and can get things moving. Possibly Bellingham in an ideal world.

Not sure what player Bajcetic gonna turn into. Started as a fab type DM but look far better on the ball so could be that more number 8 type.

That team with some legs in midfield, with gakpo/diaz closing down, midfield pushed up tighter to close down the opposition so they can’t play dangerous balls over the top with quality.

I know this seasons looked awful and sometimes too simplistic to say 1 player will change it but honestly think coukd of energetic midfielders and diaz/gakpo/Nunez having season to work tactically on the press plus Jota back who is very good at that and we’ll start squeezing teams again.

Next season teams may start coming at us more as well given this year and if we have our press sorted properly that could be very dangerous for them

henderson cannot play 6. he wasn't staying in position when played there. no cover to anyone.

fabinho is toast. has to go.

    we need 3 cms.

I'm all for bajcetic but he needs time.

Fabs been poor but hoping it’s just a fatigued season or something. As a rotated option then will hopefully be fresher and offer something.

Brining in 3 brand new first team midfielders isn’t going to happen, 2 at max

Well if we don't we are ****ed.

    fabinho is toast.
    thaigo is toast
    Henderson is toast
    ox is gone
    keita is gone
    milner is gone
    Jones shouldn't be there
    Elliott is not a cm.

if that's not a case to buy 3 then I don't know what is.

at best I can summon up bajcetic and morton for the conference league if we are lucky enough to even be in that.

    we NEED 3.

But they’re only toast because fab Hendo have played pretty much every game this season. Yes they are toast if going to flog them and expect them to run 15km every game but doesn’t mean they can’t offer something. An option off the bench. A rotation option.

Jones has looked decent in last 2 games in cm. Better there than out on the wing

I'd say we need at least 3 new midfielders.

Then henderson and fab can rest and rotate.

It's been our issue for by far to long that we rely on a first 11 to perform week in week out then wonder why we have so many injuries, why we look sluggish.

Elliot nay develop into a very good centre midfielder, he's been by far our best this season, but its a low bar.

We've been very lucky with bajectic, but it would help if we didn't break him.

Jones isn't and never will be good enough I'm afraid. He's still there because he's club trained that's all.

We've ran on fumes for too long, no back up to the main 11. Now the main 11 is broken, it's a huge rebuild.

Or we can sign a couple of players run them into the ground and be back here in a couple if seasons.

We definitely need more than a couple. Ox, Bobby and Keita are going, likely to be followed by Matip and Milner. Need to replace them before improving the key areas

Yep I agree that those three are going but how many minutes have those three played this season ?

whether we like it or not Klopp seems to like a small squad and hopes for low amount of injuries

some of the players being talked about as gone is crazy

I can’t believe I am one of the more positive posters tbh

I do think this year is a result of the efforts of last season, I think I have been saying this a while now
I believe this is why we are seeing we can still raise our game
Our confidence has been hit massively
Couple of players in to make the squad believe and we will be on our way again :emoticon-0165-muscl
