Agreed. When a manager is sacked he's entitled to have his contract paid in full, I think the same thing should apply in reverse, so any manager who leaves should have to make sure that the value of his contract is paid in full as compensation(along with the costs of bringing him in, if he leaves within 18 months of his arrival).
So, please correct me if I'm wrong, the situation is that Pearson has a £700k compensation clause in his contract and we're willing to pay that. But Hull want an extra £500k or so which we aren't happy about? If so, both owners are renowned for being stubborn gits and, if Proud is correct, Nigel will probably resign and take the job here. If that happens, then he'll get sued for breach of contract but I assume that will be covered by the club and I doubt it'll be for the £1 million+ that you want. Either that or Nigel is unwilling to resign and so it'll go down to a tribunal. Again, I doubt you'll get the £1 million that you want. So, I think it's highly doubtful that you'll get the figure that you want and it is just eating into your time to find a new manager. I can see why Allam would want to stick to principle etc. but surely he's got to be realistic about this and see that it is unlikely he'll get his money and he's wasting everyone's time here. Unless that is his intention?
No sure about any clauses (apart from Santa) but I think what we are after is his contract paid in full which is the about the £700k figure mentioned, and a refund on the money we paid in compensation to Leicester originally (£500k??), this makes the £1.2m. I might be wrong, but either way for both clubs sake I hope it is sorted quickly.
Im no lawyer but if we agree to the terms of his contract where's the problem?, mr. Allam seems to have a convenient memory...we loan waghorn to him, which helps in their promotion effort and don't hold his club to ransom over the fryatt and hobbs deals...fair deals IMO.. or the compensation for pearson in the first place..It appears he is starting to look like an ungracious loser..
You sold us two players and loaned us one because you didn't want them, you'd replaced them with new additions. You now want our entire entire management team and you think it's not worth half the value of the two players we bought from you? Having compensated you for losing Pearson(even though you wanted him to go anyway), giving him £5m to spend on the players he wanted, then having him waltz off against our wishes, you think you should be able to give us a refund on what we gave you in the first place? Someone has just tweeted 'The difference between what #hcafc paid and what #lcfc are being asked for is a stupidity tax for letting Pearson go in the first place', though that's obviously a sarcastic remark, I tend to agree with it's sentiment.
I wouldn't say we don't want Waggy, but we need to see improvement from him before he gets near the team. That's why we loaned him out to a club at which he is more likely to get some match time. Kind of agree about the stupidity of letting him go and then getting him back 18 months later, but it was a different set before and now.
well if mr. allam wants to drag it out for a few hundered grand so be it..he will appear unreasonable....nigel will quit...it will go to court and the barristers will cash in...great.. if thats what he wants.. so be it... but what comes around goes around...
if we give Hull £700k, and hull replace him with Karl Robinson, they will probably have to pay them around £700k, and i bet they'd rather keep Pearson...
I'm also jealous of the fact that in spite of that, you're 3 points behind us and looking like worse prospects for promotion. I'm also jealous that you play worse football than us, don't have any width at all and are completely clueless going forward. So so jealous I just thought I'd give my two pennies.
We all know we'd only end up with £500k. Leicester won't go up this season because it takes time to build a team - even if you through money at it.
<<<So, I think it's highly doubtful that you'll get the figure that you want and it is just eating into your time to find a new manager.>>> You think we wont be finding a new manager now? It's very unlikely we will wait until this is settled before we start.
