Funny how some people think having loads of money gives them special rights. Forget the fact that Leicester are poaching another club's manager, forget the fact that Hull City made it clear that we didn't want him to leave midway through the season.
No apparently our owner is "an ungracious loser" because he doesn't doff his cap and take whatever compensation Leicester choose to offer. There's a word for this, it's called arrogance and I wouldn't mind betting it's leaving a bad taste in some of your mouths.

Too right, but it isn't just Pearson going. It's Walsh going that makes it worse.

We will end up paying the compensation the new manager's club ask for after negotiations are complete. We might not like it, but we won't arrogantly condemn their impudence for refusing what we initially offer.

What, that our owners are trying to minimise the compensation they pay and aren't just bowing down to anyone else's demands? Yep, makes me sick <ok>.

As I said before, it's all well and good Allam having his principles but it's unlikely he'll get his £1 million+ so, unless it's his intention, he's wasting everyone's time.

I'm not talking about your owners, I'm talking about some of the attitudes on here.

Ahh right, well, to be honest, there were/are a few (and I must stress the minority) who have got carried away with the money we're spending and thinking we're going to walk the league and, because we have money, can do whatever we feel like and have the right to do it. These are the fans who you'll probably have seen wumming you in the pre-season and every club has that fan-base that think they're the best and are untouchable.

But please don't mistake the opinions of that small snapshot for what every Leicester fan thinks because most of us realise how lucky we are to have the wealth and resources we do and know that it doesn't guarantee success of any sort. Honestly, we're a nice bunch really :D

Surely if Allam really wants to dig his heels in here he could reject pearsons resignation if it comes to that?

Fair play and I respect you for saying that, but I never said it was the majority, just a minority that most of you are probably embarrassed about anyway.

But there'd be no point because he wants out and it elongates your process of appointing another manager.

But you need to think about why he is playing hardball over the compensation fee in the first place. Surely it cant just be because of the money involved as he has enough money that 500k isnt gonna make much difference. If its just the principle that he is doing it for then by rejecting is resignation he can stop np from leaving for a little amount then place him on gardening leave allowing us to get a new manager in anyway....

What is the ruling on that - can anyone be placed on gardening leave or does it have to be written into their contract that the club has to right to implement it?

Although such a clause in Nigel's contract might be why he is so reluctant to resign. However, surely that would have been reported by now if that was in the contract.

If he walks out,not a lot hull can do about it.Grayson did it to Blackpool.Football league rules do allow for punishments up to and including a points loss. But in our case,Blackpool didn't get anywhere near what they wanted.

From reading this i gather it would be written into the contract but also suggests it is written in pretty much every contract as a given. Guess the only way we will find out is if it comes to that!

Didn't Pearson resign from Leicester (first time around) and Mandy accepted it, but Leicester still asked for and received £400k from City for Pearson? How did that work then? Pearson now wants to leave City. He has two years of his contract left about (at a guess £700k), but Leicester don't want to pay that and the extra dosh City are asking for...Are they skint?

No...we just don't want to get fleeced by every club that does business with us just because we have a bit of cash.
