Always good to get your old man out in some fresh air Yeah I'm really good mate, plenty to keep me occupied lol. But I'll be here to rinse that Arteta revolution thread if we win the league.
Not far from mine there Saff, around the Liscard area? I was in New Brighton a couple of days back. Very "characterful" parts of the world Probably taking the kids to the Eureka place next week, not been yet.
We ended up in the harvester at New Brighton, that seems a really decent area. On the flip side, I’ve not seen an area that’s as run down as Wallasey in a long time. I wasn’t sure if it was Liscard or Wallasey where I took that picture, it was outside a little pub on the front.
My wife is from just around the coast (West Kirby) and there's a lot of snobbery on the Wirral about which are the nice areas and which are not (get that everywhere i guess). New Brighton, Liscard and Wallasey blend into one another and often get lumped together but as an outsider when i moved here 10+ years ago I liked New Brighton. There's some fantastic old houses there with sea views which would be worth millions if you put them somewhere else (Caldy is a few miles around the peninsula and it's where the footballers live, it doesn't have the views but the houses cost what you'd imagine what footballers houses cost) and it was obvious at the time that the place was on the up - alongside the standard chains there's also some good character and the Floral Pavillion is usually good for a show. Unfortunately it took a bit of a hit during Covid (the area at the front by the Light cinema has some closures) but i still like to take my kids there for days out and reckon it's still undervalued compared to other areas on the Wirral. A lovely long beach with the walk over to the fort, etc. Obviously it's no Whitely Bay. ps. Also would add that I think Liverpool has an excellent and recognisable skyline which I get a nice view of from where I live. I love Newcastle but Liverpool looks nicer across the water. No competition.
Our local paper (Leicester Mercury) now saying we'll appoint Jesse Marsch very shortly as he has apparently interviewed very well ... that won't be as caretaker... so Potter now off the table, who knows ... but we certainly need someone ... some of the selection and positional decisions (and explanations for them) have the fans absolutely baffled ... Harvey Barnes possibly did his hamstring yesterday and he's been the only real attacking threat... although a bigger problem has been the service to the forwards which has been abject ... So all in all not looking good at all ...
Marsche will get everyone working hard and putting a proper shift in. Also he'll add some aggression and make sure you play on the front foot but his main trait is trying to win the ball back high up the pitch and hunting in packs to try and achieve that. The problem areas are when the opposition switches play and your players will need to display superb athleticism to get across and back to cover.
That's the thing us from Birkenhead always say though isn't it We won really - cos we got the better skyline. They look out on the Mersey and see Birkenhead ffs
please log in to view this image Sky Sports News @SkySportsNews BREAKING! The PGMOL has admitted a mistake was made by the match officials and VAR when not awarding a penalty to Brighton in Saturday's Premier League game against Tottenham. So if Brighton miss out on Champions League because of that mistake, how will they be compensated. If you want to bring in a system that is supposed to stop mistakes, there has to be accountability. I think that match should be null and void and replayed. Just saying...
Soyuncu might get a game on that basis ... I'd play him Faes and Vestergaard as a 3 myself with 2 wing-backs and Mendy holding/shielding in midfield (does great there for Senegal) ... 'Positives' (straw grasping) - Tielemans is back in training and Dewsbury-Hall will be back from his ban ... but it's Citeh next ...
The cynic in me suspects that if those specific incidents were the other way round, VAR would have been used to give them ...
You know mate, didn't they have some dodgy Italian assisting with financial affairs at Spurs, just saying...'leave of absence' they called it, 'accounting practices' a media article called it, righto lol.
No surprise that they don't want to admit there should've been 2 penalties, or don't they know their own rules on shirt-pulling? no mention of the goal disallowed for hand-ball that clearly didn;t touch an arm. Threaten to get CL football as a small club, wait for the VAR decision and 'apology' from PGMOL.
yeah, we had 3 in 14/15 & 3 in 20/21, both when we were threatening top 4. You should be ok now though, you have the richest owners in football, and money is want counts with the FA.
