I don't know about sunset times. I edited my post. Gels do digest and will turn into energy, but there is little if no reason to use them. The body does store enough energy for the activity of football.
Its an interesting topic. The purpose of this? Beyond the quest to be diverse, there is no physiological one. Eating something during a game frequently will have a negative adverse effect on a player. 50g of carbs (two sachets of gel) can make individuals crash because the body can't process the intake, they (gels) also should tested, not every individual will gain benefits from these types of fuels. It looks like woke for woke's sake.

Got bitten to pieces by mozzies on that particular day - there had been a rainstorm and they all came out as it was steaming away….
YOU need SSS ...! . NEVER WITHOUT IT when June [ month! ] comes along and especially August .. especially in Scotland. they dont like a breeze but a slight breeze and / or a bit of drizzle brings them out. Walked down the mountain with a friend a couple years back.. he doesnt get affected by them at all .. there were clouds of them I could see see them coming at me but didnt get a bite ... when we stopped at a point to wash our kit I caught him him up .. he looked up and was in stitch's then tok a pic of my face .. if I can find the pic I will post it [ well a bit of it ! ]
Threads about football. Anything done for one of the holiest days in the Christian calendar and a day of fast and abstinence?? Mass times?? Were concessions made for that??
Funny I thought the thread was about “pandering gone mad”, it’s obviously on a football site, but we don’t only discuss football and I thought this was a non football thread. I apologise if I’m wrong.
Apology accepted. You were asked three questions and this post is not an answer to any of them. The opening poster made a post about the premier league regarding religious rituals. Its there bang in the first line. This thread is not intended to upset anyone but I was more than a little annoyed at the new policy implemented by the Premier League regarding religious rituals. My post and the one you answered was about football and christian ritual.
Thanks for your pointing out the intention of my original thread Red Alert and as you say there was never any intention to upset anyone on the religion front. Sometimes the posts on here morph into something completely different but rarely cause any controversy.
Its seems to me that we all have a choice to follow a religion or not and best of to those who follow their religions but this shouldn't have an impact on the rest of us and football. As i see it only one religion gets this special treatment. Christianity is the official religion of the UK and the majority of religious people in the UK are Christian. so what about Christian festivals and rituals?? If there has to be religious observance and this is all about tolerance then no games on holy days like Good Friday.

On a slightly different tack my family in Red Deer, Alberta sent us a bunch of photo snapshots of their St. Patrick's Day celebrations whereby the entire house was decked out in green and all four of them were were in green outfits to supposedly enjoy the day. We were supposed, I presume, expected to reply with gushing comments in order to validate their ridiculous cash spending on the outfits and decorations. My son had the audacity to ask me why I hadn't replied with flying colours and I didn't because I knew my granddaughters don't even know where Ireland is yet alone the facts of the attacks that killed many innocent people, including a bunch of cleaners at the home of the parachute regiment in Aldershot. I will send them similar photos on St. Georges Day and I would suspect that even my son (born in England) hasn't got a clue that such a day exists and certainly not when it is celebrated. If I am correct it is the least of all of the National Days (including Burns Night) in the British Isles to be given any thought and as the years progress it could even disappear from the calendar. Rant over, but my ill-informed family will continue to spend ridiculous amounts of money to follow the marketing of events that they don't, or never will, understand. Done!
I’m not at all religious but I respect anyone that is regardless of what religion they believe in. I’m not sure we should “ pander” to any one in particular, just be respectful to all.
I always quietly celebrate Saint Piran's day but none of my crowd even recognise the bloke, life can be quite lonely at times but all Bristol City fans understand that.
I would say that with the caveat that not intended to cause offence toward ..............
by giving way trying to be nice oftens causes more anguish . For 100' even 1000's of years countries have their way of life .how they do things governed by the laws they make or the religions they adopt. visitors to those countries should abide by that. If they wish to follow a legal different lifestyle they should do so within the rules and legal concepts of the law.
Quite right, however we must also evolve as a society, adapt and take on new traditions, it must however be evolution not revolution. As time goes by it’s likely traditions of different religions and cultures will be included alongside our traditional ones. Society evolves.
