Chelsea have discussed it and allowed the idea to leak to the media.

I think that Utd and Liverpool might consider the current names of their stadia to be worth more than any deal would be.
If this becomes the norm amongst their opponents, then this might change.

Sorry must disagree. It is entirely because we criticise and look down on super rich classless clubs that we must not do it. If we go down the same path as those we despise (the cheaters, the filthy rich, the no-class clubs), then what makes us any different? The idea of supporting a team has to be more than just a name.

I will never forgive PM for publishing those photos of British Army "attrocities" and continuously claiming they were real. Even now there are probably some people that thought they were. Apart from that he's a to**er.

Oh dear! I'm not sure if an educated thug is better than an uneducated one, or not?

  6. White Hart Lane is the address where our current stadium happens to be situated. Technically, the stadium itself has no name. It is the football stadium situated in White Hart Lane. If we redeveloped a stadium on the existing site and sold the naming rights, it would become "The [sponsor's name] Stadium At White Hart Lane." Of course, if we move to Northumberland Park, the stadium will no longer be situated at White Hart Lane, and it is unrealistic to believe that a sponsor would agree to paying millions of pounds only to call the new stadium "The White Hart Lane Stadium."

I am as sentimental as the next Spurs fan, but I know that it's only a matter of time before (a) we move away from our spiritual home, and (b) officially drop the name "White Hart Lane" from any part of identity.

White Hart Lane is to us, what Upton Park is to the Spammers. We just don't have an equivalent to the Bowling Ground (or whatever they call it)

Chelsea are discussing it for Chavford Bridge, and Liverpool have discussed it for their new stadium.

I'm surprised Everton aren't considering it for Goodison, frankly - their need to pay the bills is greater than Liverpool's need to make more money for Comolli to chuck over a cliff in vast quantities.

Highbury and Old Trafford are other examples.

Let's be honest, calling it White Hart Lane II would've been a bad idea...

It's Oscar Wilde, Ensil. I can't remember who he said it about, but it was; "He is a man who know the price of everything, but the value of nothing"

Guys, I got rid of the poem out of deep respect for your feelings :)

Is it now safe for me to mention that your ground is not on White Hart Lane and funnily enough is roughly equidistant from both White Hart Lane and Campbell Road.....that's another potential new name for the stadium to consider maybe? :p

Seriously though. As others have said, whatever the powers decide to name it, assuming it is half sensible, it will always be known as WHL, so take the money!

Ok, we'll change the name of the stadium.
Now you lot have to move to The Emirates.
    Not bothered which one.
    Bye.

The existentialist theme, the nauseating quality of existence,
could equally be applied to the experiece of having to endure Joey Barton.

Whether he's quoting Neitzche or not.

Am I alone in actually being on Tevez's side? He's handed in transfer requests on at least two occasions, yet Mancini would prefer to instigate a witch hunt against him by making unsubstantiated claims against Tevez in the media, yet the club still punish Tevez despite nobody substantiating what Mancini says. Besides, it's not like Tevez is the first or the last player to criticise Mancini's man management skills (and lack thereof...)

I might agree with you if it wasn't Tevez, Croydon.
He's clearly just after another pay day.

City gave him a break last season so that he could go and spend some time with his kids.
He buggered off on holiday with his girlfriend, instead.

Back to the topic: I would support Spurs wherever they played and whatever the stadium was called. But I might have to draw the line if we started to play boring defensive football like Arsenal under Graham.
I want a team of artists and cavaliers - not a soulless one.
The essence of the club is the style.
