hope you get 4th spot tbh we don’t enter CL to do anything in it These washed up overpaid ****s don’t deserve it
You get the sinking feeling that it will take something as huge as Kane leaving (i.e. the full works, transfer request, public statements, agent interviews etc.) to shake this club out of the doldrums of the past 4 years. We are without direction. That is what it boils down to. Zero strategy from top to bottom. Symptomatic of this is the fact that proven poor players like Sanchez and Lucas still get on the pitch ahead of supposedly newer and better signings but the root of it goes to a rot at the core of this club. A rot that has stumbled from reactive decision to reactive decision since the one that started it all off: Sacking the one man who had the nous to work wonders despite the club's best efforts to derail him, just five months after he reached a CL final with a squad containing Lucas and Sanchez.
Only Leicester, Portsmouth and Wigan have won the FA Cup or League outside of United, Chelsea, City, Arsenal and Liverpool since 1997 (26 years). Only Swansea and Birmingham have won the league Cup outside of United, City, Chelsea and Liverpool since we won it 15 years ago. So I don't get ****ed off not winning a pot (I'd love us to) but the football is mindnumbingly boring and or bad...and that seriously pisses me off. I don't understand how anyone at the club can not see that Levy is simply repeating the **** up made when he sacked JM. He has to be removed from football matters or we will simply make another rubbish appointment. Our squad is stuffed with over the hill and over rated players. We need to start again like jol, pochettino and Redkapp did. We need a manager who will ditch the old guard and keep the rest onside and target the domestic cups next season like Pochettino and Redknapp did in their first season and bring through a core of young players. That was the basis of the squad believing in the vision of the manager and the manager believing in himself. In short we need a three year plan minimum. But we won't get that. My last visit to the lane was the Milan debacle...there is no way I am paying a lot of money to watch football that makes my eyes bleed so I suspect it could be a long long time before I'm back
Winning pots is the game I don’t see why it should be good football or pots both that’s where we are that’s where the money at our club is that’s where the ticket prices are that’s not where our mentality as a club is though
When Arteta came to Arsenal none of his current defence was at the club Then you get us and most of our back line is still here after umpteen managers Its all on Levy
He's the only player I'd ever give a free pass too to do as such, never agreed with how Modric or Bale acted to get their moves but I guess you could understand it from their perspectives as it's likely they wouldn't have been sold otherwise and I think Kane will have to do similar if he wants a move, he's more than paid his dues here and I can't imagine what it must be like for him looking over his shoulder and seeing some of these players share the pitch with him, then seeing the likes of Sanchez and Lucas coming on too.
I know we can have both, I remember the Burkinshaw 1981-84 teams. I'm only saying it don't anger me that we don't win anything...but turgid football does. I remember great moments, great games more than anything. If the 4-4 draws v Chelsea, Villa and Arsenal or the 3-3 against Arsenal are on TV I'd watch them...cos they were great games. If the 1999 league Cup win v Leicester came on I wouldn't... cos it was a typical tedious bloke in a coat game. I don't think you are wrong for placing trophies as a higher priority than me, I just think we are different people but equally I don't think my outlook is a negative.
you also remember the Ricky Villa goal, Jonathan Woodgate’s face as the ball smashed it on its way in, The Gazza free kick against the Goonz on an FA cup run that was magical in 91 etc etc I want more
Basically playing Kulusevski and Perisic as wingers and Son nowhere. I thought that the Croatian was our most dangerous player in the first half though, to be fair. I'd be happy with him as a winger. We have other obvious issues beyond not having any options at LWB/LB, though. No creativity in midfield is a massive one. We can't control games. No holding midfielders is another. Our defence gets erratic protection. We keep conceding screamers from players who rarely score. Our subs are another. Half of our bench aren't ever getting on the pitch. The half that does are either not match-fit or played out of position, possibly both. I'd love to know what Danjuma's done wrong. Most of the rest is kids.
Agreed...mate In the 1990/91 season we played Luton, were 1 down and had 10 men...the flood lights went out and after an eternity came back on. We equalised through Paul Stewart (who Venables dropped into midfield) went down to 9 men and then they went down to 10 men and Stewart scored the winner...and a legend was born! Stewart became a midfielder that day and went on to win us the cup
