Last weeks anticipated thrashing at the hands of North London Yobboes Tottenham Hotspur having failed to occur, it appears I’m lumbered with doing another match thread. What little creative powers I ever had are now completely exhausted, so this will be short, but there will be pictures.

First though, a mention of next weekend’s opponents, who we meet the day after April Fool’s day. About the only good thing I can think of to say about West Ham, is that they hate Tottenham too. But at least some of Spurs fans actually come from Tottenham; West Ham should just pack up and move to Essex now imo, and take the Stratford Dome or whatever it’s called with them.

Pics now.

Touch of class this bloke, got Fonte’d by John Hartson for some reason. Never found out why.

You need to edit Archers, you need to add the matchday thread banner.

This game starts a run where 4 of our next 5 games are on TV. I don't think that's ever happened to us before.

It would be nice to think that TV companies have (finally) appreciated Saints quality, but are they more like vultures circling, hoping to see failures, followed by picking over the bones? Our next five opponents are West Ham, then Man City, Palace, Arsenal and Bournemouth. For three of these games, will the coverage be about 'big' clubs, and we as opponents will probably get little mention? There will also be an attempt to build up the South Coast rivalry between us and Bournemouth, just to boost viewing figures.

Either way, I suspect that our appearances on TV will not be purely based on showing Saints' 'superclub' status. Which of course we are, it's just that not many others realise.

Arsenal and City are title contenders, so our participation in those games will be a mere distraction to the pundits, no doubt. The others are our fellow relegation contenders, so presumably someone somewhere has decided the relegation battle has some sort of appeal.

Apart from the very real sense of satisfaction when we secure our PL status, a close second would be watching the overpaid sofa after the event 'experts' struggle to explain our success.

Any success by Saints will be due to a dip in form by the other team, as they will be 'on the beach', or 'missing key players', or something similar.
