Having listened to it, as already said it was a blood clot, clearly no bad feeling about us, couldn't play for a long time, was training but was not allowed contact sport until October/November last year time. I guess with both Christie and Coyle ahead of him, and missing such a long time not playing, he wanted to get regular game time to rebuild his career, hence joining GY. I guess the question will always be, should we just have loaned him out, I'm not sure when his contract ended, rather than let him go. Certainly has talent, I guess TWT and we will see how he goes from here. Good luck to him.
There's a fair few top end L1 teams and 1 of the champ teams that look like they'll be in L1 next season keeping a very close eye on him and how he reacts to first team football again. Grimsby want him on a longer contract, but they are being realistic and accept that he almost certainly won't be a L2 player next season
So why all the great mystery over a blood clot issue? I respect someone's privacy and all that, but this is hardly one of those personal issues that fall into a particular category. I don't get it, and that's me speaking as someone who lives with the constant threat.
I suppose because it wasnt a footballing injury that the club couldnt talk about it without his permission I agree with you I dont see why there was a mystery especially seeing as he seemed comfortable to talk about it now
The player didn't want it talking about in public at the time and the club respected that, it's really that simple and why people seem to think the have the devine right to know is beyond me!
That's fair enough, just a strange one given the actual problem. I'll leave it at that, if nothing else just to shut Chazz up.
Possibly Because he's recovered, cleared to play and its behind him. Or maybe he just felt more comfortable now.... Who knows
If he’s got the all clear why the hell did we not just loan him out with a new contract? He’d be perfect in our current set up
