Mark Burt: Not a Palace fan but can’t help feeling Roy Hodgson’s appointment on par with Turkeys voting for Christmas. But if he keeps them up, it’ll be hailed as a master stroke. BBC
If they stay up due to their fixtures then they were going to stay up under Vieira, it's a baffling sacking.
They sacked him because they wanted a different style of football, I bet he was laughing his cock off when they rang
Job there for one V. Company, assuming Palace stay up. Tight fit. PS..Who woke up Woy to give him the news?
It's just another club in panic mode. If a club is well-run, I don't think relegation is the be-all and end-all which clubs seem to think it is. Sometimes it's the chance to hit the refresh button and return stronger as Burnley have done. I know Grant was slaughtered when we went down but it was the best thing that's happened to us in the last few years. We brought in a group of great characters who are now climbing their way up the Championship and allowed us to blood our academy talent too (which was worth significantly more than staying up)
Genuine question, how many of our League 1 winning team are realistically playing a significant role in our improvement this season?
I know people don't like to admit it, but Ingram has had a number of MOTM performances this year also
Fair enough, the post you quoted said league one winning team, not league 1 recruits hence why I said him. Which ever way you look at it, they have had positive impacts this season
Fair enough, the confusion comes because I think Shark's original point was that following relegation we signed a good group of players, but Fred then broadened it to any of that promotion team, while I re-focussed on Shark's original point. Either way, there's a lot of good players in that group who have contributed a lot to City. You can also then throw in Greaves and Ingram, as you say.
Note to self, be more precise, fair point Sydney. I was indeed supposed to be referring to players signed in League 1 who were contributing to us climb the Championship.
Wasn't saying it was an issue, I responded to your post with players we signed in League 1. Considering their roles in our side this season it's actually a remarkable batch of signings given players we have signed around them.
I never said you said it was an issue, but you like to lead chats down that path all the time so I’ll leave it there, I was actually agreeing with you.
