I'm actually lost for words on this. For some reason I'm not angry though like I normally am when he ****s up. I'm just disappointed.
Chelsea lost there tradition as soon as Abramohvic walked through the door. And even if they do it, it doesn't make it right!
Of course he doesn't care about the fans feelings or traditions. He's in this to make money. He doesn't care about Newcastle, and everyone knows it. Everyone has known it for years now. That's why I'm not shocked or annoyed about this.
If Ashley leaves within the next 2/3 years, do you think there will be a chance the new owners would change it back?

This. Especially as more clubs start changing their stadium names, commentators will refer to them by the historic ones and so will all the fans.
No because everyone is hiding behind the Fair play rule. Which yes I agree with in parts but its things like this that pisses me off

Tradition means **** all tbh we need a sponsor for the stadium if we want to keep up, I imagine there was the same uproar when shirt sponsors were introduced. We are going to keep calling it SJP regardless.

Many people thought there would be something like this looming with everything going to well. I can't say I am not disappointed but **** Mike Ashley and his tacky shop. I will always call it St James Park and that is all that matters.
Yeah you'd think if a new board wanted to get off on the right foot (although by simply not being Ashley they've done themselves a favour) they'd change it back to SJP. Unfortunately I think getting the East Stand lettering back would be impossible now.
