Whole thing is ridiculous.
Dont get me wrong, I think what Lineker said was total ****ing hyperbolic nonsense, but I dont really care.
His political opinions dont affect his ability to present match of the day.
Whilst the BBC has to pretend to be impartial (<laugh>), Lineker made the comment on his own Twitter account and he is a human so of course he has an opinion on things ffs.
I dont need all my TV presenters and actors to have the same political beliefs as me, I'm not that thin skinned and entitled, and neither are most people.

Typical of the woke cancel culture nowadays.

The irony is, the radical leftists started this cancel ****, and dont like it when it bites on of their own in the arse.
I dont agree with it at all. If Lineker had said it on MOTD or on a BBC programme then fair enough, but he said it on Twitter.
If it hadnt been for the news reporting that he said it, I wouldnt have even known, because I dont ****ing use Twitter, because its for ******s.
I just dont get why someone has to lose their job for an opinion, albeit a dumb one, that wasnt even espoused on their network.
Unless he broke some kind of law, then its none of the Beebs ****ing business really.

I wonder what the reaction would have been if Linekar was right wing leaning rather than left.

‘Great news today coming from No.10. The country is full!’

Would Wrighty and co be so quick to defend our Gary’s right to voice an opinion? Or is it just because they agree with him?

It's because I'm this occasion he's right. In your alternative scenario he's wrong.

because they agree with him

they probably agree with him because his stance(linekar’s) is non aggressive and helping the needy…it’s as simple as that.

Call it left, right, centre, a bit this way or that way but the ultimate fact is that Lineker spoke up for the vulnerable voiceless group of people who seem to face unfair discrimination.

basically Lineker spoke up for that homeless man outside Tescos whilst the rest told him to ****off and go n sit somewhere else….that’s not politics, that’s human nature and comes down to the cloth you are cut from.

<laugh> I can imagine this is actually how some of them were thinking.
