Will anyone actually miss the school of the blaringly obvious punditry of match of the day apart from the presenters on their inflated fees?

Absolutely not, mostly smug sanctimonious windbags, full of their self importance.

Don't watch it now. Why would I when it's been sanitised be company stooges?

These shows are as much about the presenters as they are the content. Look what happened to top gear. Glad they’re all voting with their feet, makes a change to see people stick up for values nowadays.

MOTD would attract an audience no matter who was presenting it. It is one of the few programmes where that is the case.

Match of the Day will air later without a studio presenter or pundits, and some of its regular commentators, after the BBC told Gary Lineker to step back in a row over impartiality.

I enjoy that the right cries about snowflakes and cancel culture and then screeches for Lineker to be cancelled for offering an opinion on Twitter that doesn't actually contravene BBC rules.

Clarkson was the biggest star on the BBC and they cancelled him. Good excuse for BBC to get rid of their highest earner. Sad the other pundits are too stupid to realise they can easily be replaced much cheaper

Clarkson with TopGear brought in more money than any other programme. Now he is the doing the same for Prime with Clarkson’s Farm.

I imagine the ratings have been going down and down for awhile for MOTD
This will boost them and no doubt they’ll bring the slimy **** back

Lineker, like Rashford and Thunberg, is a brilliantly effective detector of bellends. Hated by so many for saying perfectly reasonable things.

The BBC is, or should be, a wonderful institution for this country to be proud of. The recent Borisification of it, to the point that its management is now very obviously just cutting out anti-government voices when asked to, really should be a source of national shame.
