Prehab don't take this the wrong way but that's the most balanced argument you've made today. Well thought out points
That's always been my point.

Wouldn't disagreeAn opportunity is a progressive chance.
If that's the question, we are.
We are toward the bottom of the form guide and I do feel we will live there. We won't finish top 6.
We had the chance. But we didn't have the striker depth.
We have still done amazing. But we have definitely blown a chance this season.
That's always been my point.
Wouldn't disagree. The ideal scenario for the club was Simms coming back and there must have been some encouragement from Everton for us to pursue it. As for a 3rd striker? My gut feel is that some players were available but clubs were taking the piss with wages/loan/transfer fees and Speakmann/KLD decided to stick with what we had
It's ****, but it is what it is and we need heads down and get as many points as we can between now and the end of the season
But instead just saying that it's ****, we're going to do nothing and pointing fingers at the club, you've actually put your point across better and it doesn't get people's backs up
It's not that though is it.
If it was
It is what it is - the entire football league would doing it.
We are one of, if not the only club out of the 92 without a single player who can play as a number 9.
That's not normal. Our manager said so today. Therefore it's ok to question the recruitment
You're right it is but surely once a point had been made and it's out in the open, is there any need to keep reiterating that point? We all think that we should've signed at least one more striker either in the summer and in January but the options that were available to the club weren't what the club wanted and like it or not we have to accept that decision
I can ge diplomatic as they come. Point is. We screwed it. And we are paying the price.
You don't seem to be accepting other people's point of view but keep pushing your point in reply. I'm done.
That's fine. But the facts are in front of us. 1 point on last 9.
So make a suggestion on how you would rectify that with players we have available. How would YOU change the team we have now?
Not possible. Like our manager said today
" I am sending the team out without the tools".
That's why I am annoyed. A managed should never ever say that
What a cop out! Its easy to point fingers and say how **** things are but can't offer a suggestion on how you would set up the team.
They are doing most things right, and given we looked better with a centre back up front, use our much vaunted recruitment system to find a journeyman
I can ge diplomatic as they come. Point is. We screwed it. And we are paying the price.
'Screwing it' would be having the opportunity to sign the right man and saying no ...
... we didn't have that opportunity.
'Screwing it' would be selling Stewart and not replacing him ...
... we didn't and there's no suggestion we intended to.
Gary Bennett said on radio commentary that "Sorry, but no way is Gelhardt a centre forward", Tony Mowbray is now saying he hasn't got the tools to do the job, Never mind the pro's and con's of getting into the play offs I am worried we will lose Mowbray as well.
I'd much rather we brought in the right striker, and others, for next season when things have stabilised ....
... than squeeze up now by the skin of our teeth.
Some people are saying we don't have a good enough squad for the PL but, nevertheless, want a striker to get us up there.
The club are either A. planning our progress or B. operating a massive scam by pretending to, while being happy to stay in the Championship for some reason ...
... if it's the latter could someone please explain why.
Surely bringing in a £20m striker would bring the club a £100m profit if that's all it takes to get us promoted. If it's that simple why would this 'bunch of conmen' not take that option.
