He can play the hook and pull shot well mind. But he gets it in the air, (over the ropes usually!) and that's a bit harder when they are quicker. But he looks like he has everything.
Wish Stokes would trust himself more as a batter. It's as if he's gone full on Stuart Broad in an attempt to convince his team and the rest of us that slogging is the only way Root has shown that there is a place for normality amongst the mayhem
