But surely I'm calling them woke because they are woke. Or do you think that some are embarrassed to admit it? Has woke become a term of derision, like fascist?
So those with woke views can call themselves woke, but if those right of centre call them that, its derision?
I didn't say I'm not woke, I said I don't describe myself as woke. I know what I think it means, but you have a wholly different definition whereby you paint anyone with a particular view on one issue as having a whole range of predetermined (by you) views on other issues, so I'd prefer not to use the term. You and others like you use it as pejorative term, yes.
The N word obviously has a very different and troubled history. Woke really are holding themselves out as precious, if what you say is right.
Ok, so you're woke but don't describe yourself as such, because it's used as a dirty word by those right of centre.
Not at all….you would use “woke” as an insult A right wing fascist would use the N word as an insult Very similar
The funny thing about using terms such as 'woke' and 'gammons' is that they both probably apply to every single person. What is someone's woke is another person's gammon and vice versa.
But what you inferred in your earlier post was that some black people use the N word to describe themselves, but others can't call them that. And you compared this to woke - woke can call themselves that, but not others. That's precious
It's never been a term that I've used and I don't recognise the term by your definition of it. Why should I be expected to justify myself to people such as you in such terms? Would you describe yourself as a bigot?
Amazingly enough my blood pressure is near on perfect at the moment…surprising as I’ve put in a stone in the last 3 weeks and becoming fatter than a beached whale. (I am assuming you realise my earlier post was in jest ? I wouldn’t want to upset that cold, dark, fascist heart of yours )
