A good tentative selection, Oddy.
Banbridge impressed with his jumping on his debut, but is he sure to go for the Turners? I hope so.
The horse I’m most interested in for an ante-post dabble is Charlie Byrne’s stayer, Blazing Khal.
His trainer stated that, following his setback, he’s 100% fit but will be kept for this forthcoming season.
He impressed me with his abundant stamina in his two Cheltenham wins.
Although Flooring Porter gave the best exhibition of jumping at the whole festival when winning this year’s Stayer’s Hurdle, Blazing Khal wouldn’t need to progress much more to throw down a serious challenge.
I’ve taken your tip, Oddy, and backed both Banbridge and Blazing Khal , both at 20/1.<ok>

You've certainly got some value there Tam and hopefully a run for your money. Banbridge now best-priced 5/1 for the Turners and Blazing Khal 3/1 for the Stayers. Did you do the e/w double or just singles?

Ultima
Lord Accord 16/1 e/w NRNB bet365 five places, 20/1 Lads and Coral

Will he be wearing headgear??? It's still 1 of my favourite stats (even though I know some on here think its daft). 9 out of the last 11 winners of the Ultima wore some form of headgear (although this time last year the stat was even more impressive as it stood at 9/10).

Hope he carries the cheek pieces he won with in October at Cheltenham. Now he has an OR 137, and I don't know if he will get in, last year the cut off was 138, two years ago 132.

Might make her Rules debut at Ascot on Saturday, I see. Looks potentially an incredibly strong Mares Bumper in Royal Berkshire at the weekend.

After six or seven entries in the last few weeks on both bumpers and hurdles, this seems to be the good one. Anyway, another bet for the bin.

Brandy Love declared at Punchestown on Wednesday in a Grade 3. Top weight.

Oddy, a very good morning.
Sorry I missed your comment- been all over the place lately.
Yes, I was initially going to have a good bet on Blazing Khal only, but I liked your suggestion of Banbridge- and then got a bit of cold feet about backing ante-post at Cheltenham.
It really is daft because there’s everything against you…will they get there in one piece, which race, etc?
Anyway , I got 20/1 on both and had each way singles and an ew double. Just stuck 10.00 ew for both and a fiver ew double.
It’ll still be a nice bet if they both win.
Excepting the bounce factor, I can’t see Blazing Khal being out of the finish, and the fast gallop from Flooring Porter will help him.
In fact I think he’ll win.
Banbridge ran disappointingly but then stayed on strong last time.
He needs the good ground, though. <ok>

Very good bets. Took Banbridge 16/1 e/w after the death of TSL who was my original bet for the race.
