In that shot 3 of the back 4 are marking no one just just fresh air. Left it to Robin to mark him which he did but was not tight enough. But he did only leave him the one angle which dopey meslier did not cover. Meslier is good at one v ones but the rest of his game is championship standard.

That's a good point Rads might suddenly have business on and Orta off recruiting. They need a new scapegoat in to take the blame.

I’m not saying he’s good but Meslier owns that howler.

With Fulham away coming up soon do we play our strongest side or will the likes of Adams, Wöber etc be rested for the relegation scrap?

Would anyone settle for relegation and winning the FA Cup and a place in Europe?

Could be a way of keeping our better players for the Championship, and obviously with the right manager in place we could come straight back up.

Not a perfect scenario but not the worst one. And collect some parachute money along the way.

    Could be fun

The trouble is, rest players for a relegation scrap and they could still play like they did against Everton with Zero shots. You’ve got to try and win every game. Giving the players the positive feel of a possible Wembley appearance would surely have a knock on effect in the league, go for it would be my message.

Survive this season in the PL to rinse and repeat for a 3rd consecutive season or take our first silverware in 33 years, I’m tempted to take the silverware and fight our way back up

Yeah I agree. I hope we do play our strongest team at Fulham as I’ll be there  and the last three away games I’ve been to we haven’t lost <whistle>

We can't win an argument at the moment never mind a cup. Throw the cup game have we forgotten about Rodrigo already?.

We have to stay up no matter what. The cup is just a bonus.

Players had a rest against Everton at the weekend anyway, two full strength squads should be put out <ok>

It was just a hypothetical. Relegation combined with a cup win and European football next season.

    Would that placate anyone?

    What absloute nonsense.

Watch the goal again and you'll see Firpo by the touchline marking an Everton player, so exactly where a left back should be. Coleman is more central and is next to Tyler Adams when he starts his run. Adams doesn't track him so Koch does. All perfectly as it should be in a team game. Firpo along with the rest of the back four did nothing wrong. If you want to be highly critical then Koch could have tried to block the cross/shot but he probably thought why give away a cheap corner.

Yes mate but unfortunately some posters are deadly serious about blaming Firpo for just about everything. So even though it was apparent you weren't really blaming him it still needed putting on the record so to speak.

What’s the point of resting them, they keep losing anyway.

It was actually one of his better days. A shame it coincided with other players being woeful.

They are obviously too knackered to play a competitive game from all the over training ;)
