Well it is a relief he has gone, but not exactly a happy moment.

Sports Republic have wasted 8 games and a mid season break on him. That decision, along with others, has cost us our place in the league and likely means some of the future stars we have, along with our captain and potential club legend, will leave the club this summer.

I’m delighted he’s gone.

I feel weirdly sorry for him in that he’s so plainly out of his depth that he’s gone from the high of a potentially dream job to the low of realisation that he’s United a fan base against him and probably established his coaching level for the rest of his career.

I fear this has come a few weeks too late to save us but is obviously the right move

Can we change the name of the Jones out thread to ‘confirmed Saints sack Nathan Jones’ and have all our slagging off in one place?

On a human level, it’s the coaches that go with him I feel sorry for. Stable and secure jobs at Luton, follow him here and watch him implode having just uprooted your careers. Hope they find something new quickly enough (and/or have a reasonable pay off)

I wonder what ‘reference points’ have changed between now and Tuesday night?! Or is it just the obvious one that we’re rubbish?

They will all be on huge money, compared to both the average bloke and their previous coaching roles, and will now receive that in a huge lump sum.

Jones was Championship manager of the season last year. They'll get another job on similar wages, or better, as what they were on at Luton pretty soon.

This is probably the best financial moment in their lives.
