Paddy Power ads are the worst, trying to put their disgusting electronic fruit machines into every day life. As if it’s perfectly normal to be sat round your in-laws or walking the dog spinning the reels. How that isn’t pulled up by ofcom, I don’t know
Mane never frustrated me. Poor and good form comes and goes, effort should always be present and Sadio always gave 100%
yeah, once you accept he needed 3 or 4 chances to score 1 then it was fine. He did what he did. He was actually our no 10, every attack he was never on the left wing crossing.. scored loads of headers getting in the box. but he is only 1 player and not responsible for us not being able to defend.
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...nge-ritualistic-power-of-the-press-conference tbh this is the first I heard about all this. Guardian now covering it. . The guardian describes Klopp and snapping back and "savagely" breaking a compact. Now having watched the vid, I don't get what the fuss is all about. Klopp didn't snap, he was calm, spoke slowly and softly. Explained that there's clearly a reason he doesn't want to talk to Pearce. Seriously, I don't care.
I suppose I am just saying we might miss him but we don't miss him by 20 odd points and 2 cups level. There's multiple issues and i'm sure all agree with that.
basically this is a classic guardian bit of waffle Its all about painting a picture with flowery language, almost pretending to not be a sport hack but a poet or whatever. It is also a character assassination based on a premise that Klopp is under pressure and wil be off. It starts in on Klopp's age (artic bread), body language (tired eyes) and then grossly exaggerates that he snapped and bit the head off Pearce. now personally..... we all know the score. When you have to explain yourself or give them an excuse to have a go you are already losing. Klopp's lost the aura now and like what happened to mourinho, he will have a travelling pack of hyenas waiting to chew on his carcass. It is not the end, nor maybe the beginning of the end as some fat **** once said. (was it Z?) But we all know klopp is closer to the end of his tenure than the beginning and this gives these types of spivs the excuse to sue stuff for their own advantage. As i said before, if pearce found himself persona non grata at all levels of LFC he'd be in trouble for his job very quickly. The club can show who they back this weekend. Same as the fans can.
Some headlines are seriously overplaying what happened. As you say, Klopp was very calm in his interaction with Pearce who had tweeted something during the game that Klopp took exception to. Also after the utd game Pearce wrote that Klopp was demanding more red cards for the utd players, something that Klopp firmly denied and called fake news. One of the problems with these post match interviews is that the managers are bound to be prickly if they've just lost. There has been no time for them to properly process it before being questioned. Not just Klopp either.
First paragraph… ****ing he’ll who cares what he looks like and how handsome he was 7 years ago? Guy manages a football club ‘He looks a little haggard these days, like a homeless wizard: the face worn and weathered, a thick Arctic forest of a beard hanging from him. Deep breaths. Voice cracked and familiar. Baseball cap drawn low over sad eyes. On the walls at Liverpool’s training ground there are photos from his arrival, a younger and handsomer man staring him down every day he comes into work’
I imagine the majority of people his age looked better seven years ago. This is what happens when sports journos start to believe they're actual writers. It reads like a character introduction in a novel and imo is entirely inappropriate for a discussion of an actual person currently in focus. It's demeaning and derogatory and reflects badly on a profession (journalism) already littered with gobshites with nothing of any value to contribute. There are real journalists out there - ones who take big risks to expose corruption in high places and those who take even bigger risks reporting on disasters and war zones - for sports hacks to even be associated with them is insulting. Like with my prior rants about pundits and commentators, hacks - and other professions like arts critics etc - are just parasites stealing a living talking crap about what other people actually do. We do that for free. They're a waste of space and I've no time for any of them.
What's even more worrying is that people read stuff these journalists come out with and believe it, 100%. Look at the shoddy attempts at Hillsborough. To this day there are those who will quote what they read at the time and spread it as gospel. For a lot of people, if it's in the paper, it's true. That's the power these hacks hold.
This is very accurate. Many players, Salah is one of them, played his best when the team was playing well and were quiet when the team was quiet. Mane on the other hand was blistering down the wing even when we were playing crap. Mane always stood out more when we were playing badly because he's be the only one really trying.
I thought he was referring to a quote by Churchill. Something about the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning.
Phew! I think I said about it being the beginning of the end with Klopp but that was in the context that he might be getting fed up with FSG and decide to walk.Which would be a massive blow to us as I can't see who else I'd want to replace him.
No man can last forever. We got massively more than we deserved out of klopp. Next man in will not be easy whenever unless fsg are gone. The likes of spurs hired damaged goods in conte and mourinho. To get someone super talented and such a unique charisma is almost impossible. It'll be back to defensive coaches imo.
