17 games left, over half the season gone. If we were, say, top after 3 games, then yes way too early to judge, but with over half the season gone and the best defence and least games lost in the league, by this point we've put a stake in the ground for ourselves. I said 5th as my prediction at the start of the season, which would be a great finish for us, but still a tinge of disappointment if we finish there after so long in the top 4. With Man Us form, there's a good chance they'll finish above us, and Spurs are definitely strong enough to finish above us too. But who else? Chelsea and Liverpool are way behind us and both in a total mess right now, and we'd expect to finish above the likes of Brighton, Brentford etc.
Brighton are capable of finishing above newcastle.. the points lead isn't much even over pool and Chelsea... one bad run and it's gone. It's just too early to rule anything out . I suppose I'm wrong to rule out top 4 but I feel it's unlikely.
10 points is a big lead of Chelsea even at this stage, and for me they're in too much of a m as right now to put the run together that they need to get into the top 4. Brighton are good, no doubt about it, but I don't see them getting into the top 5; 6th or 7th is certainly achievable for them though.
You're not wrong to comment on it at all. Most said they'd be delighted with 7th or 8th at start of season. It's great to dream of top 4 and to a certain degree (tongue in cheek) imagining we could close the gap to first. Reality is we'll be **** against Bournemouth and Liverpool as our players wont commit to tackles till after the cup final in fear of missing it. Now we have people moaning because we fail to win a game that 12 months ago, that draw would have been met with a lap of honour post match, and the city bouncing into the early hours of the morning. Its people getting carried away with themselves and quite frankly.....If there was a way of determining who these people were, then they should have had them their own period for cup final tickets ensuring they don't drop their arses at Wembley if we're not winning after 10 minutes. The game was a bit **** - yes. But we never lost.
Gordon-------------Wilson---------------Almiron ----Willock-----Joelinton------Longstaff--------- Burn-------Botman------Schar--------Trippier- ------------------------Pope----------------------------- Gordon starts for me. Never though Joelinton would work in the CDM spot but he did a fantastic job last week,
Is Isak still a dizzy lizzy or can he play now, cos I want him to start soon. Otherwise team of the last match with Gordon replacing ASM, huge difference when he came on.
But @Gordinho said he would probably be out for the season. He once got hit on the head and couldn’t stand up for 3 months.
Don’t expect top 4, never have done but come on anyone who says they wouldn’t ****ing love Champions League football next season is mad! Even if we got battered, knowing we had Bayern at the Allianz on a Tuesday night..
