Best: Leeds, York, Newcastle

Worst: Burnley, Manchester, Hull

Worst part of the country I've travelled through was the Gooch of the North - the Pennine bit between Halifax and Burnley - on a rainy sunset. Truly vile place full of ashy, boarded-up old factories with huge chimneys, depressing, squat little grey houses, gypsies and pitiful Lancastrian cretins shuffling about with no purpose or worth to their ****, unenviable lives in that tip.

You made a thread saying the north is better than the south then you list northern cities as the worst in the country,daft ****.

I've not been to the South that often so can't really list all their ****holes. I know Luton, Portsmouth and London are meant to be awful. Probably should have included London - my experiences of it have been overwhelmingly negative.

Anyway, since when was 'having good cities' a pre-requisite for being the best bit of the country? It's because of the PEOPLE OF THE NORTH that we're so feared and respected around the universe.

If you have money London is one of the top 5 places on Earth............... Leeds rains all the time and the people are poor....

Leeds is probably the most affluent big city outside London, and that only gets by due to its high-concentration of ultra-rich in the small parts that are half-decent. Most of the perceptive lot have ****ed off to the Home Counties long ago. Neverending concrete jungle which should be annihilated and its people taken with it. Leeds, by contrast, is 2/3 green space so you never feel like you're imprisoned by chav scum, grimy walls and the atrocious, cockney-accented, rude-mannered, perenially-rushing-to-their-next-boring-assignment locals, like you forever do in the Glorious Capital.

Leeds rains all the time? Probably one of the least rainy cities in the North due to its central location.
 
New York, Paris, LA, Milan, Barcelona and Leeds...... Manchester and Liverpool are good cities, Leeds no not for me...

Depends what you're looking for. If you're after a city with nice and extensive suburbs, good shopping, restaurants, pubs, nightlife, jobs and rail links, it's Leeds. If you're after places full of crime, whiney-voiced scallies and socialists, go for the aforementioned slices of Lancashire.
 
You have it all Yorkshire pudding, Yorkshire tea , Yorkshire terriers and now Yorkshire internet........ And don t you just love telling us about it???

I am an ignorant ****er and never visited Leeds, apparently it was good for Uni and clubs................. If you get the chance to live in London you should try, it is **** but also ****ing awesome, depending where you are and how much money you earn.................. I will not grow old here though, i will move to Spain when i get too ****ed.......

A few, yes, but thanks to a faithful sheepdog by the name of Yockenthwaite they've all been shepherded into a little city in the West Riding named Bradford. A few of the more lively ones managed to escape to the North and East Ridings but if they're apart from the herd for too long they'll die (without their extended families nearby and their elderly mothers to cook for them, they'll quickly leave this mortal coil when curry powder levels in the blood drop below 99 parts in every 100).
 
Best city on God's earth is London, obviously. It's people are infinately cooler, sharper, better dressed and better looking than all you trogs from the backwaters.

Most under-rated city is Liverpool. I was expecting a bleak northern hell-hole full of slippery rogues, but was pleasantly surprised to find a vibrant, attractive city full of great architecture...and slippery rogues.

Worst place on earth - trust me, you wouldn't want your mother in law to live there - is Luton. Twinned with Stalingrad.

Manchester is a world famous city. Leeds isn't even the most well known in Yorkshire.

To be fair, it's famous for 2 things; The Hacienda, which shut down years ago, and Old Trafford which is now owned by Yanks and will soon be transplanted to Boston.
 
One of the most stunningly beautiful girls I've ever had the pleasure of being chatted up by came from Devon, so her presence alone makes it a place to behold.

Wolverhampton is a bollocking piece of ****.
